Hi All
Based on the LXC- x2go implementation ideas from :
http://bmullan.wordpress.com/2013/11/20/configure-x2go-remote-desktop-capabi...
Ive created this docker setup .
It runs a xubuntu system with x2go ,
We could even streamline this even further with just Xfce or lubuntu however I wanted to post to this mailing list what I have for now.
https://github.com/paimpozhil/DockerX2go
Please test/ feel free to re-use or fork :)

Do you feel we should maintain that upstream? Would you volunteer to
provide other distro setups (Debian, Fedora, RHEL), as well?
Thanks for your contribution.

I volunteer to give you setups for Debian/Fedora/RHEL :)
I know RHEL/Fedora like back of my hand, more than Ubuntu/Debian setups.
I can make seperate folders/images for all these if you would like .
Let me start cooking them today.
Also I do not mind if you want to maintain this DockerX2go further.
Whatever works.. I feel like contributing back to x2go :)

I am excited to have dockerx2go on fedora 20 x86_64. I made one myself but it was only partly functional. It did not run dbus so many things wouldn't work that you'd expect on a desktop.

Hi Neal,
Is it possible for you to tell me some examples of how to replicate the things that wouldn't work with DBUS.
I am trying to fix them right now.
I had difficulty with chrome , but was able to run Libreoffice/Gimp/etc.
Chrome works now with --no-sandbox key.
I will upload these changes today to github.

There are things that don't work *without* dbus. I'm afraid I can't recall ATM, but I recall that at least one program I felt pretty essential to my usage of x2go wouldn't run, and I gave up on the idea - since I had no clue how to start dbus, and didn't get any ideas from the groups I posted questions to.

I've used dbus quite a bit in the past but not recently... mostly with Python. I won't have any time this week but next week if you want we could talk about docker, lxc, x2go? Send me a direct email if you'd like to do this and I can setup a webex session.

Hi Mike,
I also have an LXDE system which is more minimal than the xubuntu image .

also available as a trusted build from :
