Hi All:
Given that X2GO only works with 2D desktops so the desktop must be something like LXDE, XFCE or MATE.
Can it be configured so that a X2GO remote session will initiate a, for example, MATE desktop session for the remote duration? (Or is this already the case?)
If not here is how a it works with XRDP and Ubuntu 14.04 (and greater), how to setup MATE fall-back session software for managing remote access.

Can this be done, or is already being done with X2GO? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Jim

You are free to pick any of the supported desktop environments form the drop-down list in X2GoClient, this setting will only affect the particular X2Go session, not your default for the local desktop.
