I'm trying to use x2goclient on a Ubuntu 15.10 GNOME laptop to connect to an system running Fedora 23 KDE.
When I connect, I see the K-gear logo as KDE starts, followed by a popup saying that Firefox is already running, which I cancel. Other than that, the screen is black. Left-click or right-click on the window does nothing.
If I resize the window, I get a popup on the target (F23) system which asks for the root password with something about managing a color device. Then the korganizer window opened (probably because this is autostart). When I close that, I'm back to the unresponsive black screen.
The details window has a warning: "Unrecognized session type "unix-kde-depth-24". Assuming agent session."
Any help?

Ubuntu ships with kde5 which is incompatible due to plasmashell requiring GLX 1.3 per the X2Go Wiki.

Michael is running FC23, not Ubuntu, on his server. The underlying issue may still be the same, assuming FC23 ships KDE5 just like Ubuntu does.

I haven't upgraded my Fedora box to 23 yet, but looking on the web itlooks like it has KDE 5.4.32 or some such so still same issues.

Fedora 23 is confusing. There are both kded4 and kded5 executables running, as well as kdeinit4 and kdeinit5. korganizer says it is kde-4.14.14, konsole and dolphin don't mention the kde version.
I'll see if I can install Mate or something else and run that remotely.

I just noticed that when I use tigervnc to connect I also get a black screen. It had worked correctly a few days ago. Something broke.

I'll get around to upgrading my Fedora box soon then I can experiencethe delites first hand. I'm still trying to get used to dnf and how it broke every graphical installer out there.
