Hi,
I'm currently testing a simple x2go setup: both client and server are running Ubuntu Oneiric, with the packages taken from http://ppa.launchpad.net/x2go/stable/ubuntu/.
One of the features listed in the packages description is:
However, I haven't found any instruction explaining how to enable this. Is pendrive mounting support supposed to work out of the box? When I try to plug in a USB stick it gets mounted on the client machine and nothing happens in the x2go session.
Any hint?
The following packages are installed on the server:
ii cups-x2go 3.0.0.3-0~54~oneiric1 ii x2goagent 2:3.5.0.11-0~220~oneiric1 ii x2gognomebindings 2.0.1.4-0~53~oneiric1 ii x2goserver 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-compat 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-extensions 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-fmbindings 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-printing 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-pyhoca 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-xsession .1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1
And the following packages are installed on the client:
ii cups-x2go 3.0.0.3-0~54~oneiric1 ii python-x2go 0.1.1.9-0-0~612~oneiric1 ii x2goagent 2:3.5.0.11-0~220~oneiric1 ii x2goclient 3.99.0.6-0~144~oneiric1 ii x2gognomebindings 2.0.1.4-0~53~oneiric1 ii x2goserver 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-compat 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-extensions 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-fmbindings 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-printing 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-pyhoca 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1 ii x2goserver-xsession 3.1.0.0-0~477~oneiric1
Thanks, Emanuele

<snip> Hi, Emanuele. I believe you need to tell the client (under Session Preferences) to share the mount point. The client does not share local storage automatically for security reasons I would assume. When you define a share, there is an option to automount it when the X2Go session starts. Hope that helps - John

This is only working+preconfigured for the X2Go thin client
environment. You probably will not want that if x2goclient is a normal
desktop software installation.
For further introspection study the x2gothinclient.git package code on
git.x2go.org.
