We made sure to downgrade mesa but this happens with certain NIS users. Non-NIS users do not have this problem. Here are some logs.

It may be an issue with what shell they were using. I know when I wasrunning MacOS (I've since loaded Ubuntu on my Mac) that it had problems if I used any non-bourne derived shell such as tcsh. But ksh, sh, bash, and dash were all fine.
