I have used X2Go for some time, server is an openSuse 13.1 system, client is a Windows system. For now it is running Vista, I am trying to replace it with Windows 8 embedded (a HP thin client).
The Windows system has two screens. I want to use screen 1 for Windows, screen 2 for a fullscreen Linux desktop. So I configured this in the X2Go client. (use whole display, select display number 2)
However, I find that it does not work reliably. This already occurred on Vista, where it initially opens the session in a window and then quickly switches it to fullscreen. Unfortunately the initial small size is sent to the Linux session which adapts by resetting the desktop size, then the full screen size is sent a fractional second later. The result is that my window placement is all messed up.
However, after switching to the newer Windows 8 the issue becomes more pronounced, the window now initially appears on screen 1 which is slightly smaller (because of the taskbar) and is then moved to screen 2, at which time the vxcsrv just crashes. I can work around it by starting a new session but it will not be full screen, there is an unused area the size of the taskbar. The server also does not crash when I select Fullscreen as the display mode (without Xinerama), but then I get the fullscreen mode on screen 1 instead of screen 2 as I desire.
I see nothing about these problems in the documentation, do other users see those issues and/or is there something I am missing and can use as a workaround?

*We* are missing the version number of the X2GoClient that you are using. ;-)
There have been a few multi-screen related fixes in the more recent releases, so you should make sure you use the current release:
http://code.x2go.org/releases/binary-win32/x2goclient/releases/4.0.5.0-2015....
If the problem persists even with the latest release, please file a bug report: http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:bugs#reporting_bugs

Ok you think it is only related to client version? I tried it with the most recent version downloaded from the website last tuesday, and also with an older version downloaded in january this year. That is the version that I am running on Vista with some success, although it is a bit tricky as well. (as described) I will lookup exact version numbers tomorrow for use in a bug report. My main reason for describing the problem here is that I would like to know if it is already known, before spending all the effort to send a detailed bug report with all version info and getting an immediate *marked as duplicate of bug number 11* in return.

The version I tried on Windows 8 embedded was the version x2goclient-4.0.5.0-2015.07.31 also mentioned below. The version I am running successfully on Vista is V. 4.0.3.0 (Qt - 4.8.6). I tried that version on Windows 8 embedded as well, but there was no difference in the results (the startup looks a bit different). So when there were "fixes in recent releases" they were either before 4.0.3.0 (which I downloaded Jan 15 this year) or they do not affect the behaviour I see.
Are there others on the list who use a similar setup (two screens on Windows client, one screen fullscreen X2Go) who can report if their setup works flawlessly and what they had to do to achieve that?
I wonder why the program always first starts in a window, already making the connection, before resizing itself to the requested display configuration (fullscreen of entire screen 2). Some of the problems I see would be avoided when the program first sizes itself to its final position and only then negotiates its size with the server.
My server is OpenSUSE 13.1 and it runs x2goserver-4.0.1.15-4.1.x86_64 and has a KDE desktop. Should I try to update it?
