Turning off compositing fixed it.
Thanks!

Two things to check:
Make sure compositing is disabled: https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/xfwm4/-/issues/551
Disable the the screen saver. xfce4-screensaver and xscreensaver I found both these hang an x2go session.

I am having a problem with connecting via X2Go with a system that I just installed Rocky Linux 8.5 onto.
I am using the XFCE desktop.
I have included the debug log.
It opens to the desktop but then the window is basically frozen. The most I can do is open a terminal and it takes many seconds to do that.
In the debug window the following two lines are being continuously repeated over and over:
x2go-DEBUG-../src/onmainwindow.cpp:11224> "Searching proxy window: X2GO-abc-59-1645974877_stDXFCE_dp32" x2go-DEBUG-../src/onmainwindow.cpp:12829> "Searching window with title: X2GO-abc-59-1645974877_stDXFCE_dp32"
X2go on server is 4.1.0.3
X2go client on windows 10 system is 4.1.2.0 I have had problems connecting to other systems with the 4.1.2.2 Windows client so I am using an older one.
Any ideas what is going on and how to fix?
Thanks
