Hi,
As this is my first post on the mailing list, I would like to congratulate the development team for the great work with x2go : It is allowing us to give access to our Linux image outside the wall of the Faculty at very low cost.
I have set up an x2go broker server with https enabled : Apache Virtual Host + wsgi + plain + inifile + pam_ldap authentication.
Connecting to the broker and getting connection profile works like a charm from an Ubuntu 12.04 x2go client (using --broker-url=https://x2go_broker_ip/plain/inifile)
But, I keep getting a connection error (Failed Authentication) from a Windows x2go client (I am testing with version 4.0.1.3 on Windows XP).
Bug has already been filed (*258 days old)*: http://bugs.x2go.org/db/22/229.html
It is extremely annoying : It prevents us from deploying x2go largely in our University !
Any plans to solve this issue ?

For starters, we have recently acquired a new volunteer maintainer for the Win32 builds of X2Go, Mike DePaulo, known here informally as Mike#2.
I am CC'ing him here so this gets his attention.
Also, if there are bugs that you wish to see solved quickly, there's always the option of putting up a bounty or to contract one of the work-for-hire kind of developers present on this list, like Mike Gabriel (Mike#1) or Oleksandr Shneyder (Alex).

My 2 priorities with the time I have to contribute were the following before i read your email: pulseaudio for win32 3.0 or later to work properly with x2go.
- Setup the automated/jenkins build system for Windows builds.
- Implement a better fix for bug 363. Specifically, getting
(Currently trying to fix pulseaudio bug 75418 in 5.0's release candidates.)
I am going to make fixing x2go bug 229 my 2nd priority now. But I cannot make any commitment as to when I will have it fixed.

thanks for taking my request into account and modifying your priorities.
I will wait (impatiently) for your fixing !
In the meanwhile, I'll try to setup a basic ssh proxy load balancer so that windows x2go client can connect without https.
I'll share my setup for anyone interested.

I'd be interested in your solution, Mr. Kauffmann. Our organization prevents us from running any services unencrypted, but I might be able to get an exception in this case, and we do have to run the broker server. We currently simply state that the service doesn't work with Windows, but I'd love to be able to offer it up!

Over on the X2go-Dev ML, a message just appeared that declares http://bugs.x2go.org/db/22/229.html fixed & closed, so https Broker connections should now work from Windows, too.
Would be cool if you could test the new version and report back ( == re-open the bug) if there are still any issues with it.
