Hi,
I recently updated my x2go server. Now x2go clients get an empty list for published applications.
The one symlink I have in /etc/x2go/applications was bad, so I redirected it:
[root@cx2go ~]# ll /etc/x2go/applications/ total 0 lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 23 2018-01-06 21:41 gnome-terminal.desktop -> /usr/bin/gnome-terminal
/usr/bin/gnome-terminal itself runs
In /var/log/messages, I saw
‘x2gogetapps has been called without options”
Here's what it returns:
[root@cx2go ~]# x2gogetapps <desktop> </desktop>
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

gnome-terminal.desktop != gnome-terminal
If you believe the symlink is wrong, you shouldn't replace it with one that is wrong as well. ;-)
Run "find / -name 'gnome-terminal.desktop'" and point the symlink at the result of your search.

Yes, either fix the symlink, or, if all you need to run is one application, skip Published Application mode and just specify the terminal as a single application in X2GoClient.
