I am using pre-release Ubuntu 18.04 which uses the Gnome desktop.
x2goclient runs well using cli or gui
pyhoca-cli works well also
however, pyhoca-gui once executed shows the seal pup icon then disappears and I assumes runs in the background but its icon doesn't appear in the top systray like it used to in Unity.

Ignore my previous message I figured it out... had to select some of the check boxes under OPTIONS in the x2goclient menu.
