I use x2go "connection to local desktop" feature a lot. My server happens to have multiple displays. I usually choose the display number I want in the presented menu that asks me choose the display number and connection type (view only or full control). Is there any way to specify the display number and "full control" beforehand (i.e. avoid the choose the display dialog). If I can pre-specify the display number and avoid the "choose display" dialog, I can make the shortcut truly a shortcut. Any help/suggestions in this regard is appreciated. I looked through the connection conf file that x2go creates in the ~/.x2go folder and could not figure out myself.
Thank you in advance.

Hi all,
I just came across an old message that is also important to me.
The at that time suggested solution, USB-forwarding, is not possible for me. As this implies that the smartcard-reader is either locally OR remote available. What I need is a solution like citrix/thinlinc does, where the local client forwards the reader. My Java-based smartcard hold (PKI) keys/certs, that I need to use on the remote desktop. So no GPG-card. Five years ago, this was a feature that the people from NX had high on their agenda for their version 3, but was postponed time after time
Is there any chance of doing this with X2go ?
Kind regards, Hans

Hello,
I am looking for a solution to provide secure authentication / mail signing etc on a central place, so I researched the actual available OS-Solutions for this task.
I have a smart card reader built into the client which I want to use for:
- authentication at the Terminal Server
- "taking" my smart card with me to authenticate at further destinations (connection is initiated at the Terminal Server).
What I found out is, that the upcoming version of nx can do such a thing and the commercial solutions offer also this functionality (Windows only, Citrix, Oracle SDG .)
Is it possible with x2go to forward the smart card (reader) to the terminal server in a secure way to use it for further actions? If yes: What do I need for this?
Regards Markus
