Hmm, I am using Firefox all the time in nx sessions to and from Centos7. However, I do not use x2go but a propriatry script. Some things that come to mind:

• are the homes on NFS? Ist that properly configured?
• have you tried with fresh browser profiles?
• have you tried with fresh user homes?

The browser starts , but cannot create any child processes. So, no tabs, windows, or pages ever gets opened.
