Hi,
Since today I have an annoying phenomena on my remote MATE
desktops. All windows have a big black border around it. This
happens on all remote MATE desktops I tried. Even xeyes
has
that ugly black border.
It doesn't happen with LXDE.
You might ask: what changed? Well, a power outage, that caused a reboot (which I normally don't do). No package updates that I can see (which could have an influence).
The question is: is it my local X2GO client causing this? Or is it something remote (and then, all remotes)?
The border is not done by the remote window manager. I can switch themes, but the black border is always there.
The window snapping to the screen edges does not use the outside of the black border.
Kees
Hi Kees,
I had the same thing, this seems to be caused by the Window Manager configured for your MATE session. If you have MATE Tweak installed, launch it, select Windows, and change the Window Manager (last option at the bottom) to "Marco (no compositor)".

It really looks weird, and it annoys me. Especially, not knowing what caused it, and where to look to solve it.
Hey Maarten,
Yes! That worked. Thanks a lot. -- Kees
