Hello,
I just installed the TCE-live environment in our existing X2go envrionment (under Debian jessie), works fine except of the usb-automount.
It seems to me as if nothing like x2gousbmount is installed on the image.
Any hints?
Thanks
Torsten

This was an omission on our side, as the customers that were interested in the new TCE are not using this feature, so its absence was not missed.
We've since added both the x2gousbmount as well as the pinentry-x2go packages to the configuration; please try building again using https://github.com/LinuxHaus/live-build-x2go::feature/openbox for LBX2GO_CONFIG.
Please let us know if it works or if further packages are missing.

Hello
thanks for the hint.
I made a new image with
LBX2GO_CONFIG='https://github.com/LinuxHaus/live-build-x2go::feature/openbox'
the image works but it's still not automounting usb devices.
According to dmesg the device is attached Wir using LXDE as desktop environment. With our old nfs based tce (build with wheezy) the automount works (but with this image we have no working sound)
Best regards
Torsten

Hi Torsten,
that sounds like the x2goautomount package is lacking a dependency, maybe pmount or autofs or something like that.
Could you do me a favor: chroot into your old TCE, inside the chroot, run
dpkg -l > packagelist.txt
and attach the file "packagelist.txt" to your next reply?
I believe there is an update to the old TCE as well that fixes the sound issue you have there. At least I remember seeing something related from Alex in the commit logs ...
Kind Regards, Stefan Baur

Due to several oddities with the x2goautomount script, this issue is now being tracked as a bug:
http://bugs.x2go.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1136
Discussion of possible fixes will take place on the X2Go-Dev mailing list.

Thanks to a hint by Mike#1, I have a hunch as to what might be going wrong, but I will need a few days to create a test setup myself and verify this. Thanks in advance for your patience. :-)

Please try again using the LBX2GO_CONFIG from above as well as the updated build instructions on the wiki (<http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:howto:tce>), which now contain a workaround (see section <http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:howto:tce#live-patching_the_build>) until Bug #1136 is resolved.

I did that, now the device is mounted on the thinclient but not in the X2Go-environment under LXDE
syslog says:
"localhost /usr/lib/x2go/tce/x2gousbmount[2653]: USB device USBest_Technology_USB_Mass_Storage_Device (sdb1) successfully mounted"
and it's on the right place in the clients filesystem /media/USBest_Technology_USB_Mass_Storage_Device/sdb1
The files home/user/export/USBest_Technology_USB_Mass_Storage_Device.sdb1 and under /run/sdb1.mounted are created
so it looks like the x2gousbmount-script works fine
but it's not mounted on the server and so not appearing in the X2go-Session
Kind regards
Torsten

I have an idea why this might be happening. Could you do me a favor and run the following inside your old NFS-TCE:
ls -lahd var/lib/x2gothinclient/*
This should return a list similar to
drwx------ 2 nobody share 4.0K Dec 30 2013 var/lib/x2gothinclient/export drwx------ 2 nobody share 4.0K Dec 30 2013 var/lib/x2gothinclient/logins drwx------ 2 nobody share 4.0K Dec 30 2013 var/lib/x2gothinclient/mounts
but probably (or should I say, hopefully) different permissions, user and group names.

Save yourself the trouble, running X2GoClient in debug mode provided sufficient hints. The issue should now be fixed if you follow the updated build instructions at <http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:howto:tce>, using the <https://github.com/LinuxHaus/live-build-x2go::feature/openbox> git repo.
Feel free to change --apt-recommends true to --apt-recommends false for a slightly smaller image.
When using this image, all hot-plugged USB media should appear under ~/media/rm/<name of media>/<partition>

It works now with the new image built as described above, thanks a lot
