Hello there people
I'm using x2go, and so far i'm loving it. there is one thing, though, that iffs me. When i'm using unity on ubuntu, the top global menu bar dosnt work like it does locally. On my local install, i can click the menu items, no problem. On the x2go session, i need to click and hold down the mouse button before i can use the menus, "letting go" when i activate a menu entry. Does anyone have any experience with this?

fwiw I have the same problem sometimes without x2go and not using unity. So I wouldn't blame x2go but more the local X or something else.
BTW: How does unity handle the missing 3D acceleration?

while we are at ubuntu 12.04 and unity. To start unity-2d in the past I used as desktop environment "gnome-session --session=ubuntu-2d". Since the upgrade to 12.04 the launcher panel is missing when connecting via x2go (see https://imgur.com/aJXpS), when starting unitiy-2d via lightdm, the panel is there. This happens on 2 x2go server...
Any ideas?

Same here. Now we use lubuntu (LXDE). It works fine with x2go.

Thanks for the replies. It is nice to know that i am not alone
While using a different flavour of ubuntu is sensible, our company policy is to use Unity as out standard platform. It comes with the canonical partnership, i think. Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried using GNOME 3 with x2go? unity is build on GNOME, and if the problem also exists there, i know what to tell canonical if we go another route
If the problem lies in unity, i could probably contact canonical and ask if they had any solutions or suggestions.
