In a previous message of this thread, Mike#1 suggested waiting 6 months for the Ubuntu side of things to settle. Of course, if you can't wait that long and your definition of "soon" is way shorter than 6 months, there's always the option of contracting one of the developers ... as you've previously done, IIRC.
