The .x2go folder doesn't contain any text files containing the -debug
option.
I'm at a loss as to how to correct this situation.

I added the -debug to the commandline options via the menu and when I
restarted x2goclient it fails with the error window popup "X.Org Server did not launch correctly after 4 tries. Please check your installation."
Frustratingly, it won't let me go into the same menu and remove the
-debug option. It will only let me click "OK" which exits x2goclient. Restarting x2goclient leaves me in the same Hell.

You can run x2goclient with -debug to get more output.

For some reason the automounted shared folder is no longer being
shared. Moreover, manually mounting doesn't work either.
Yet there are no error messages in the X2Go CLient status window
(Session ID:... Server:... Username:... Display:... Creation time (is blank?) and Status running).
I'm not exactly sure where to look on the Ubuntu server for
diagnostics, but it seems the client side should not be so silent under both automount and manual mount.
