I use x2go on Debian Squeeze and I've had some new sessions die while logging in and a few times when I've pressed Ctrl+D in a terminal window to exit. IIRC the terminal window has been the only window open.

Neither is repeatable. New sessions dying while logging in is more frequent, trying again pretty much always works.
