I have had this problem for a long time. Using x2go client on OS X 10.10.4 and KDE desktop on the server, Ctrl-s was not recognised by the server.

According to my IT help guy this problem does not arise for x2go client on their operating system, again using KDE on the server.

Changing to GNOME on the server fixed it for me, so it seems to be a problem with the interaction between x2go OS X client and the KDE desktop.
