Funny that the solution described here (https://askubuntu.com/questions/493404/ubuntu-14-04-vmware-6-left-ctrl-and-r...) also covers the problem with Caps_Lock I examined yesterday. But I doubt the mentioned fix will help for the nx problem.

I have a nasty problem not related to x2go. My desktop is Fedora 32/KDE (pretty sure doesn't matter if wayland or x11). Sometimes I need to edit a MS office document. I've been using vmware horizon to connect to my work, and fire up powerpoint. After using this, (and after closing down horizon), I find all my modifier keys are gone, ALT, CTRL no longer do anything. I don't know how to recover without logoff/logon. As you can imagine, this is not really acceptable. Anyone know how to fix this?
I have a similar problem with vmware (not vmware horizon, which is a different beast). The only way to fix this (yet) is to run setxkbmap after it happens, see https://github.com/ArcticaProject/nx-libs/issues/755
