I'm wondering if I'm having trouble with x2go or with X11 or my kinesthetic memory, but for the last few days, my reflexes to bring a terminal window to the front by clicking on other than its border is being defied.
I have to click on the border to get it to come to the front.
Disconnecting and reconnecting (even with login) does not reset this condition.
