Great.  Once you do this x2go should appear on all GNU/Linux distributions and since NX is going closed and away, x2go can fill in the place of freenx and should be very popular, even replacing VNC if the steps to set up a server and a client can be just as simple.

converting the debian/rules files to Makefiles is currently on my ToDo list. Goal is to make it possible to install x2go from tarballs (in /usr/local by default).

Once this goal is reached you can use ,,make && make install'' for any of the Git projects related to X2go. However, this is work in progress that has not yet really started...
