What are the problems created by the clipboard manager? I've generally used Klipper (on EL7 at least) without much issue.
NX clipboard handling was very buggy before I revised it last year. Having a clipboard manager (that leads to more clipboard requests and events by its nature) triggered those bugs more often than not. Meanwhile I tend to say that's not a problem today. But that one problem with chrome Neal was mentioned must be examined.
