Not sure what's the root cause of the problems, I'm a little suspicious of Symantec Endpoint Protection. Will do some more testing to see if I can figure it out.
Yep, installed SEP 11.0.6 MP3 again and 3.99.0.0 failed to connect, even with SEP completely disabled. No message, nothing logged. For some reason SEP allows 3.01-13 to connect but no later versions. Uninstalling SEP fixes the problem with 3.99.0.0, haven't tried any other versions.
Windows Firewall isn't a problem (if you allow all x2go components).
