just a side note for Robert (who is one of the X2Go power users). I have been experimenting with the Xcomposite extension in NX and in our process of updating and cleaning up stuff, I think there is hope that we will find a way of enabling the Xcomposite code in NX in the near/far future. For GNOMEv3 also the GL extension needs to be updated, which will be a more complex endeavour, though.
