build X2GoServer as a user (without sudo) ?

Hi, the instructions in https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:development:build-howto-linux:x2goserver require sudo. Is it possible to build and install x2goserver without sudo rights? It would be ok and expected that such a x2goserver would be usable only by the user who installed it into his /home directory, for example under ~/.local/ Regards, Elmar

Removing the new control panel from kdrive

X2GO Client On Windows Starts and Terminates In A Few Seconds

Hi, I'm running X2GO client V4.1.2 on Windows 10, and trying to connect to a Linux PC running Ubuntu 22.04. I use MATE for the Session Type, and when trying to connect, I could see that the Linux desktop window starts then terminates in a few seconds, and the following x2go error log is created on the Linux PC. I'm guessing the last assert was the cause of the crash. Dear $ALL, X2Go will be present at LinuxDay.AT <https://www.linuxday.at/> in Dornbirn, Austria on Saturday, September 30th, and also at the IT-Kongress <https://it-kongress.com/> in Neu-Ulm, Germany, on Thursday, November 9th, 2023. At both events, we will have a booth where we will demo X2Go-KDrive, as well as the HTML5Client beta and X2Go's integration into the latest Remmina client. Wrong Shell When Connecting with X2Go

I have another system that I installed Rocky Linux 8.8 onto. I created some logins and set the shell to be /usr/bin/tcsh. I installed XFCE. When I log in at the computer and open a terminal then the tcsh shell is being used as expected. When I connect using X2Go then open a terminal the shell is bash. Any idea why this is happening? system upgrade

Greetings Just did a system upgrade (debian bookworm) and I have an updated system except for x2go. The following is what I am getting. (Have tried changing bullseye to bookworm and the result is the same.) >http://packages.x2go.org/debian/dists/bullseye/InRelease: Key is stored in legacy trusted.gpg >keyring (/etc/apt/trusted.gpg), see the DEPRECATION section in apt-key(8) for details. Have looked for a specific technique to update the key storage. Can't find such. Checked with the x2go website to see if there is any somewhat current information - - - except the website is current for - - well, some time ago. Please - - - any suggestions for how to remove this 'issue'? TIA

colord fix needs update for Debian >= 12 / polkit >= 120

Hi all, on Debian 12 I was getting that annoying color-manager polkit authentication window again. Turns out, the file /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/10-vendor.d/x2goserver-no-colord.pkla installed by x2goserver no longer has any effect because that backend is obsolete in polkit >= 120 or so. I ported the original rule to /etc/polkit-1/rules.d/color-manager.rules with the following content: polkit.addRule(function(action, subject) { if (action.id.match("org.freedesktop.color-manager") && subject.local == false ) { polkit.log("action=" + action); polkit.log("subject=" + subject); polkit.log("action '" + action.id + "' denied!"); return polkit.Result.NO; } }); That solved the issue for me. x2gokdrive doesn't like connection interruption

client and server both fedora f38. x2gokdriveclient-0.0.0.1-1.fc38.x86_64 I find that when connection gets interrupted 3 bad things can happen: 1. client uses 100% cpu 2. Trying to reconnect, screen starts to open and immediately closes. Then on next attempt a new session starts, old session is lost. 3. With client connected, closing laptop lid should initiate sleep. Instead client runs 100% cpu and machine doesn't sleep.

Session with a single application

Hello! How to configure a session with a single application? "Session Type": "Application" -> command "thunar" and/or "/usr/bin/thunar" in the right box => Application starts but freezes immediately (or at least doesn't respond to input/mouse).
