I am trying to install the nightly build on Mint Sylvia 18.3, but there is no 'sylvia' in the repo so I tried to install stretch. I've build the nx-libs and installed them without error but attempting to install x2go from stretch (18.1) on sylvia (18.3) results in: apt install x2goserver Reading package lists... x2go client seg fault

My x2go client will stay connected for a while, then crash. I have an ssh connection open to the same box and it stays up, as does an RDP session, so I'm thinking internet connection problems are not an issue. Client connection not possible

Hi, I reinstalled a machine (SLES 11 SP3) and used the repo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/RemoteDesktop:/x2go/SLE_11/ for installing x2go. When I try to connect a session seems to be started, but is closed immediately. There is no helpful log in the moment (see below). Any idea how to check the setup ? On another machine I can connect without any problems ... I have currently no idea what might be the problem ...?!?!? Any idea ? "The remote proxy closed the connection while negotiating"

I keep getting this message from my x2goclient "The remote proxy closed the connection while negotiating the session. This may be due to the wrong authentication credentials passed to the server." I am shown the usual "Select session:" dialog box with columns display, status, command. And also the normal buttons suspend, terminate, new, resume, cancel. There is 1 session listed. I double click on it and get the error. But the password is correct. I can ssh into the session with no problems. I think this error occurs because I recently deleted x2go related directorys in /tmp or ~/ on the client machine. Is that possible? And if so could we make the error message more helpful? I have uninstalled and re-installed x2goclient including the ~/.x2go* dirs and it does not fix the problem. How to start a new session with x2goclient on background?

Hello, I found out that there are some commands provided by x2goclient commands such as `--hide` `--autostart` and etc. But I couldn't find any commands that will create a new session for me without making a user to type IP, PORT and USERNAME on GUI x2goclient. So in brief, I need the command something like "x2goclient --start --ip=192.168.11.12 --port=22 " to access remote x2goserver with given parameters. Is there any ways to handle it ?

Opening URLs on remote application

When I run applications (such as email and web browser) on two different remote machines using SSH X-Windows forwarding they can correctly open URLs in the other application. So clicking on a HTTP link in an email launches that URL in the browser. Clicking on a mailto link on a web page launches that in the email program. If there is a name for this process I don't know what it is. Firefox talks about it here. https://www-archive.mozilla.org/unix/remote.html X2go provides me with much better performance than standard X forwarding but the URL magic doesn't seem to work. The email program launches a browser on the machine it is running on rather than the existing browser. The browser does the same thing with mailto links. The firefox link seems to suggest this magic is done with the X toolkit, intrinsic properties, and actions. There is also the MIME database to look at, and I think D-Bus might be involved. If I can figure out how it works with X forwarding perhaps I could write a patch for X2go or write a wrapper script around it that makes that possible. Can you steer me in the right direction to understand this process and what x2go code I should look at? For reference I am running openSuSE 42.3 on an X86_64 machine with the KVM hypervisor. I am using an XFCE desktop. The "remote" machines are running on virtual machines under KVM on the same hardware. My email client is Evolution 3.12.11 running on one VM and my browser is Firefox 57 running on another. I have tried both the X2goclient 4.1.0 (which I guess is C) and pyhoca-gui 0.5.0 which should be python. Maybe there is a configuration option I need to use that I missed. I can't find anything in the documentation about this feature, although it would help if I had a name for this bit of magic. If this feature isn't already there I would be pleased to write, test and submit a patch. Thanks. Bill

If you have users on a CentOS6 platform and it is up to date, and they use the gnome desktop, you'll probably get a pop-up that says, "Authentication is required to set the network proxy used for downloading packages An application is attempting to perform an action that requires privleges. Authentication as the super user is required to perform this action". A fix per the Red Hat solutions site: "Add X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false to the end of the /etc/xdg/autostart/gpk-update-icon.desktop file."
