Hello. If I am connected with linux x2go client to the server to me the full screen, but with an opportunity to minimize or maximize it with the help by a mouse is necessary. I know about hot buttons, but it not that it is necessary for my users. And they not always work:( Whether there is an opportunity to have a control bar a x2go session in the full-screen mode as it is made in Remmina or MS-RDP-Client? X2goServer successfully connects to server, but no window is shown

X2GoClient installation

Hi there, In attempt to install x2go client on my Debian LXDE, I’ve noticed the installation is incomplete. Shortcuts and and libraries weren’t installed. and when I tried to start the application it doesn’t come up. X2Go console doesn’t appear in the screen. I installed x2go package through apt install ~# apt install x2goclient Do I need to install other required package ? (dpkg list is bellow) Best wishes, I

Hello there. We're trying to use X2Go in our campus as a user friendly Linux-Linux remote desktop solution. We would also like a SingleSingOn approach, so we chose to use kerberos authentication between the Linux clients and the X2Go server. We already have a working KDC that authenticates a SSH server, as a test. On the client I have the Kerberos 5 Auth. option checked, but when I attempt the connection, the screen remains blank and never connects. We see the link "Data_Treveler" on a desktop and in / home/user/media/rm/Data_Treveler We return to the console of the thin client rm -rf /media/Data_Treveler Now on the thin client there is no Data_Treveler directory On the server in / home/user/media/rm/is empty as well as should be. But the link "Data_Treveler" on a desktop remained. Why I show consideration for it? If during one session the user used many different usb disks, then it will have many not working links on a desktop (garbage) and in / home/media/. The description of a problem in my native language is lower При подключении usb диска к тонкому клиенту на нем создается каталог для ее монтирования (например /media/Kingston) Эта же директория пробрасывается на сервер x2go и там доступна. При отключении usb диска каталог монтирования /media/Kingston не удаляется автоматически на тонком клиенте и соответственно он виден на сервере, но пустой. Это вводит в заблуждение пользователей. Я думаю что при отключении usb диска на тонком клиенте должен удаляться каталог монтирования (в нашем случае /media/Kingston), а на сервере удаляться ссылки на флешку с рабочего стола и каталога пользователя -- С Уважением Строганов Роман

It complained about a couple of missing perl modules when I tried to login, I installed them, after that it just hangs when I try to login, never times out, never starts up. New directories / files with the Russian names are not created. Forwarding directory /home/user/Документы from simple linux (not the thin client) forwards empty directories. If I forward a directory in Latin, it forwards it, but everything is farther as with the thin client. You are right! On the x2go server there are no forwarded disks/directories from clients. The thin client tried from clients of Linux, win. In a directory of the user there is a link to directory/media, in 3 subdirectories of CD, disk, rm. All of them are empty. Earlier everything worked on this server as 100% I shared disks from Linux/win of clients with x2go the server. I decided to check is on the x2goserver-fmbindings server The packet of x2goserver-fmbindings of the newest version is already set (4.1.0.3-0 ~ 1708 ~ ubuntu16.04.1). The following packets were established automatically and any more are not required: linux-headers-4.4.0-112 linux-headers-4.4.0-112-generic linux-image-4.4.0-112-generic linux-image-extra-4.4.0-112-generic For their removal use "sudo apt autoremove". It what depends on the version of a kernel? At me now 4.4.0.142. Maybe updating what that broke? I have a backup copy. Bingo! I downloaded pxelinux.0 C of the website syslinux, renamed the x2go-vmlinuz files into vmlinuz, x2go-initrd.img in initrd.img, made simlink and loading of the thin client began. Now on the thin client I see the console "localhost login:" Sometimes it is very quickly visible some blue screen and again the console. I think it well! Hello, The following versions crash on connect from Windows 10 to a Fedora 28 server: x2goclient-4.1.0.0-2017.03.11-setup.exe x2goclient-4.1.1.1-2018.03.01-setup.exe x2goclient-4.1.2.0-2018.06.22-setup.exe x2goclient-4.1.2.2-2018.11.30-6596556-setup.exe The last good known version is: x2goclient-4.0.5.2-2016.09.20-setup.exe UAC is disabled on this computer When I copy libssh.dll from x2goclient-4.0.5.2-2016.09.20 to the newer version, everything works well. Solution and summary: x2goclient-4.1.2.2-2018.11.30-6596556-setup.exe with libssh.dll from x2goclient-4.0.5.2-2016.09.20-setup.exe is OK!!!!!!!! OK: libssh 0.7.0 NOK: libssh 0.7.4 Can you please update libssh to https://www.libssh.org/files/0.8/libssh-0.8.6.tar.xz (and include Pageant support, fixes also some security leaks) OpenSSL upgrade to 1.1.1a would also be fine (currently 1.0.2n is installed, one year old). I have several thin clients who 512 MB have RAM. At the others 1 GB and more. If I correctly understood x2go tce-live it is loading of FAT clients? Their start pudt long? I plan about 15-20 clients only in local network. The network is very stable. Use of nfs is quite possible. I would like to try x2go tce-live but there are some difficulties. I am not a really experienced user of Linux. Therefore I need the detailed instruction. https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:howto:tce it is badly clear to me that to do. The stage "Building your own X2Go-TCE Image" What there to do? It is a script? The instruction for the x2go tce-classic installation is more clear to me therefore began with installation of this version. Still I did not find as after installation to adjust tce-live... Tooltips, pull-down menus, and context menus too far away

Dear all, I've recently started experiencing a problem when running single applications over X2Go. Quite often small windows such as tooltips, pull-down menus, and context menus get positioned far, far away from where they are supposed to be. For example, I'm currently writing this message in Claws Mail; when I activate the "Edit" pull-down menu, the menu doesn't appear under the menu bar but rather way over on my second screen. (I use a dual-monitor setup.) The problem happens with a lot of different applications, but not always consistently. For instance, sometimes I might hover my pointer over a widget that causes a tooltip to display halfway across the screen, and a minute or two later I'll do the same thing but this time the tooltip will display right over the widget like it's supposed to. Is this a bug in X2Go or in my window manager? I'm running the X2Go Server 4.1.0.4 on openSUSE Tumbleweed, and connecting from X2Go Client 4.1.1.1 on openSUSE Leap 15.0, using KDE Plasma 5.12.6. (I can't upgrade the connecting system at the moment because the x2goclient package seems to have disappeared from the repository at <http://packages.x2go.org/opensuse/15.0/main/x86_64/>.) Unwanted session suspension on an unreliable network

When using the Windows X2Go client on an unreliable network, I regularly receive the message “The connection with the remote server was shut down. Please check the state of your network connection”. I am forced to reconnect to my X2Go session, but a PuTTY connection to the same server typically continues to work without interruption once the network comes back a few moments later. I assume that X2Go is actively checking the state of the connection, in a similar way to OpenSSH’s ServerAliveCountMax/ServerAliveInterval configuration options. Is there any way to switch this functionality off in X2Go? -- Peter Oliver

X2Go client compatibility with Debian 9 Buster

X2Go Client: v4.0.3.0 Client OS: Windows 7 Pro 64bit I've been using X2Go to give me a windowed access method for my headless home server running Debian 8 Jessie for couple of years. Unfortunately that means my memory is a bit hazy on the X2Go setup details :-} The client PC and server are on the same local LAN with no intervening firewalls or other complexities. I'm using the XFCE desktop on the server. I upgraded the server OS to Debian 9 Sid a couple of days ago, and unfortunately that seems to have broken X2Go. The X2Go docs say "If SSH login works, X2Go will work, as well", but that's not what is happening here. I can SSH to the server perfectly ok from my PC (using PuTTY), but If I try to access the server using the existing X2Go sessions I have set up (one for a fullscreen client session, one for a windowed one) I get the following error: Access denied. Authentication that can continue: publickey, password These existing sessions use a stored id_dsa key file (that has not changed). If i try to set up a new session, using the same id_dsa key, I get the same error when I try to use it. This does look like an SSH error, but i'm not clear where I should be looking for the error. Any hints much appreciated.

Problem connecting from Mac to Linux

Hello, I've used x2go on a very similar setup in the past but I'm running into a problem on a new installation. I've installed x2goserver on a CentOS 7.5 machine. I'm trying to connect from a Mac running 10.13. I can ssh password free between the machines with no issues. When I try to connect I get this in my client window: Error: Failed to resolve address of 'localhost'. Loop: PANIC! Unknown remote host 'localhost'. Error: Unknown remote host 'localhost'. Session: Session terminated at 'Tue Nov 27 08:06:01 2018'. On the server side, I see this in /var/og/messages: Nov 27 08:06:01 valkyrie /usr/bin/x2gostartagent: successfully started X2Go Agent session with ID dvicker-51-1543331158_stDMATE_dp32 We don't have the server machine in DNS yet so I'm using the IP address for now. I've made sure the IP address is in /etc/hosts of the server machine and matches the hostname. Any other ideas? Is there a way to disable the host lookup? Darby

x2godesktopsharing applet starts twice in KDE Plasma

Hi all, I recently installed x2godesktopsharing via X2Go repositories for Debian. The installation asked me about activate the auto-start feature (I said yes) and enable shared desktop (I said no). When I reboot the machine in KDE Plasma desktop I see two x2godesktopsharing applets in system tray and the next error message is displayed (translated into english): /The application X2Go DesktopSharing is already active for this screen/ /if it doesn't run remove /tmp/x2godesktopsharing.lock_USER@:0 and start it up again/ I don't know about x2godesktopsharing is started because I can't find anything in the documentation about it. I only see the file /etc/xdg/autostart/x2godesktopsharing.desktop but I don't see any system service (systemctl) nor KDE Plasma desktop's startup service or script. How could I resolve this issue? Some data about my system: - Debian testing (amd64), kernel 4.18.0-3-amd64 - KDE Plasma 5.14.3 - x2godesktopsharing 3.2.0.0 Thanks in advance.

x2gocleansessions

Hello list, I reported this issue earlier in the year, the process "x2gocleansessions" is checking for sessions each 2 seconds. The 2 seconds is on line 166 in /usr/sbin/x2gocleansessions: while(sleep 2) I have no idea why this process is started that often, but IMHO it's making quite a lot of noise for a 2 seconds check. It writes tmp files to the tmp directory and removes them. When using an ssd this will update the stat of the /tmp/ directory each two seconds. Can anybody explain why this process is started so often? Or is it still in a sort of debug/test mode? In my case I'm a single user on a single system, I changed the line 166 to 3600, but wouldn't it be a better idea to put that time into /etc/x2go/x2goserver.conf? Hi In order to lower resource stress when building packages, I plan to deprecate support for distributions that have reached End Of Life on December 31th 2018. This includes the following distro versions: - Fedora o 26 o 27 - OpenSuSE o 42.1 o 42.2 - SLES o 12.0 Ubuntu builds are ceased automatically after upstream deprecation (minus special exceptions). SLES 12.0 builds will be replaced by SLES 12.3 (12 SP3) builds, since SLE 12.0 has long been deprecated and newer versions include proper Qt5 support, which the initial version lacked. After deprecation, no new builds will be published and existing builds will be moved to the archive repositories to discourage users from installing unmaintained software. Mihai

suspended sessions are not restoring

My problems with suspended sessions are continuing, so I am forced to continue requesting help. Of course, I'm using -broker-url with the client, but if I do not and I create my sessions, they suspend perfectly. So whatever the issue is, it appears to be related to broker. Any help would be appreciated.

suspended sessions are not restoring

I mentioned this problem last week and went back and forth a few times but there was no resolution. Since I am being paid to implement this I have no choice but to bring it up again. My apologies. I have the broker running on a login server and my applications running on 3 x2go servers. Everything is working fine except for this one thing. I can suspend a session, and when I run x2golistsessions I am seeing the suspended sessions in the database. But when I run the same application the suspended session is not starting up, I am getting a new one. I can verify that because if I run x2golistsessions while the new session is running I see two sessions in the database. I've tried taking two of my application servers out of the picture and limiting it to 1, but I still see the same thing. I've got PostgreSQL running on my broker server, and all the application servers access it without a problem. At least I can run x2golistsessions on all three without a problem. If it matters, after running x2goversion on the application servers I'm seeing this x2goserver: 4.1.0.0 x2goserver-common: 4.1.0.0 x2goserver-extensions: 4.1.0.0 x2goserver-x2goagent: 3.5.99.16 x2goserver-xsession: 4.1.0.0 And on the broker server I see this X2goserver: 4.1.0.2 X2goserver-common: 4.1.0.2 X2goserver-extensions: 4.1.0.2 X2goserver-x2goagent: 3.5.99.16 X2goserver-xsession: 4.1.0.2 Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Broker and resuming sessions

First a little explanation of the architecture. The login server load balances sessions between 3 servers where the actual applications run. That part is working fine. The problem is when I suspend a session instead of ending it. My understanding was that if I chose the same session profile it would resume my application at the same point. That's not what I'm seeing. First, when I run x2golistsessions it does not show my currently running session. Then if I suspend the session I still don't see it listed. I've checked it on all three of the servers. Then when I run the same session it is starting a new one rather than resuming. Well, I guess it can't do anything else since my session isn't stored. Can I suspend a session in this kind of environment? The documentation seems to say I can. Is there something special I have to do in the client to get it working? Currently the only command line option I am using with the client is -broker-url=http://<hostmane>:8080/plain/inifile Should I use something else? x2goclient on openSUSE Tumbleweed

I'm trying to install x2goclient on openSUSE Tumbleweed following the official x2go guide that can be found here: https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:repositories:suse After adding the repo, I do a "zypper refresh" followed by a "zypper install x2goclient" but unfortunately the installation cannot proceed because I obtain the following error: "Problem: nothing provides libssh.so.4(LIBSSH_0.7.2)(64bit) needed by x2goclient-4.1.1.1-1.6.x86_64 Solution 1: do not install x2goclient-4.1.1.1-1.6.x86_64 Solution 2: break x2goclient-4.1.1.1-1.6.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies Choose from above solutions by number or cancel [1/2/c] (c):" Is there a way to solve this? Both libssh4 and libssh-devel versions installed on the system are 0.8.3-1.1. Tell me if I've to provide further informations. Matlab in X2go

I'm having some issues using Matlab2018a in X2go. When using xfce4 (and KDE) desktop it causes some exception when the X2go window is hidden or resized. It also will hide all of the button widgets in Matlab until I mouse over them. When I change the session type to 'Single Application: Terminal', and then typing 'matlab &' in the terminal it works perfectly fine. Problem connecting via intermediate site

I have x2go working perfectly OK when connecting across my LAN, so the basics are OK. However it doesn't work when connecting my laptop when I'm away from home (i.e. not on the LAN). When I'm away from home I connect via an intermediate site to my home system, i.e. in my ~/.ssh/config file I have the following:- # # # esprimo may be remote or local # Match host esprimo exec "hostNotLocal esprimo" ForwardX11 true ProxyCommand ssh cheddar nc -q0 zbmc.eu 22 host esprimo ForwardX11 true So when I'm not on the home LAN I connect via 'cheddar' to my home machine. Can I get x2go to do the same thing somehow? Or, even better, can I get x2go to use a connection already set up by ssh in 'ControlMaster' mode? -- Chris Green

The last wiki changes on TCE-Live are from February ("This page is very much Work in Progess."). Should I start by the traditional way, so called TCE-Classic? Thanks for your response in advance.
