x2go with OS X and Proxy Server

Hi All: Has anyone been using x2go on OS X using the proxy server option? We can get things to go just fine from a Windows machine (we are using two ssh keys, and in authorized_keys on the server direct the connection from the proxy server to an internal one). However, when we try the same settings on the OS X x2go interface, the connection sits there and never gets passed a status of "connecting". Any help appreciated! Thanks, Ted

Hello, I use x2goclient to connect to a ubuntu 12.04 server machine with gnome installed. It worked well before I recently updated it. I remembered the updating related to ssh, and now I cannot connect it with x2goclient. I got a black window, and later x2goclient disconnected automatically. I tried x2goclient installed on a Win XP and Unbuntu 12.04. All failed. So the problem should be on the server side. The x2goserver/x2goclient are all the latest version. The information printed from the client side is attached. I saw nothing abnormal. Do you have any ideas? Current Mac x2goclients crash

I have attempted to run the 4.0.0.4 and 4.0.1.0 builds of x2goclient on my MacBook Pro (OS version 10.7.3). Both of them crash immediately on launch. When attempting to run from the command line I get illegal instruction 4. Unfortunately, I have not used a Mac long enough to know how to troubleshoot this (though I do have an extensive UNIX/BSD/Linux background) beyond the basics outlined below. For the 4.0.1.0 build, I have verified the md5 sum matches. I have the .dmg files for the 4.0.1.0 and 3.99.2.1 builds mounted. One thing I notice is that 4.0.x is significantly smaller than 3.99: /dev/disk1s2 50272 50272 0 100% /Volumes/x2goclient /dev/disk3s2 223104 188328 34776 85% /Volumes/x2goclient 3.99.2.1 Are the newer builds expected to be this much smaller? Unpacked, the entire dmg for 4.0.x is about 70MB smaller than the actual space used by 3.99.x, even with the dmg for 3.99 being somewhat bigger than the amount of space required.

x2goclient sessions immediately exit

One of our x2gousers is having problems where sometimes it seems to get stuck in a mode of connecting, the screen displays briefly, and then it exits (suspends). I've turned on debugging on the server but no error messages. x2golistsessions missing?

Finally got around to trying the install instructions for the latest x2goplugin: http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:advanced:x2goplugin No problem installing everything on server and client and on the client the web browser *does* present the normal x2go login screen but when attempting to login I get an error <http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:advanced:x2goplugin> * Connection failed sh: 1: x2golistsessions: not found* I can't find any mention of this error on the Wiki so I am not sure what is wrong The regular x2goclient and pyhoca work ok. Trying to check .. it seems like this x2golistsessions is supposed to be part of the x2goserver or the x2goserver-xsessions packages. How to configure 'unattened-upgrades' on debian squeeze to upgrade x2go packages?

Dear all, I'd like to have all installed packages on my debian squeeze systems upgraded automatically whenever newer versions are available. For this, I utilize apt's 'unattended-upgrade' functionality and the corresponding package 'unattended- upgrades' (http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/unattended-upgrades) For most included apt sources this works flawlessly. However, I didn't manage yet to have 'unattended-upgrades' also pick up changes of X2Go packages. In the configuration file for 'unattended-upgrades' ('/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades') one has to identify 'Allowed- Origins' by an (origin, archive) duple (according to the comment): ----- /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades ----- // Automatically upgrade packages from these (origin, archive) pairs Unattended-Upgrade::Allowed-Origins { "${distro_id} stable"; "${distro_id} ${distro_codename}-security"; "X2Go stable"; }; [...] ----- /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades ----- For other sources I use field 'Origin:' from the Release file as 'origin', and filed 'Suite:' as 'archive'. Hello all, I have a ubuntu 12.04 laptop client with x2goclient 3.99.0.5. installed. I use this client to connect to another ubuntu 12.04 server with x2goserver 4.0.0.1 installed. I got a black screen, and later it is disconnected. This happens when I upgraded the ubuntu server. It worked well before I did this upgrade. user profile not loaded on login to remote ubuntu machine, x2go server with gnome-fallback-session Hi all, Last night I setup the x2go qt-client and server on my home and work ubuntu 12.04/Unity machines. Connection speed is great, and I am able to login mostly without trouble, except, my login user profile (found at .profile) is not loaded, meaning of course that none of the items i need to be on my PATH can be found. As a work-around, I simply load it manually (source ~/.profile) and restart any applications using the current profile (nautilus, terminals etc). However, i'd prefer not to have to implement this work-around, if there is a way to properly fix it, or have some automated process load it for me. FYI, i've installed x2goserver and x2goserver-xsession on the server, and the QT4 x2goclient on the client. Does anyone have any idea? Kind Regards, Sean

25 user logon problem

Hello everyone; I have set up a x2go terminal-server on ubuntu 12.04 in our school. There are 25 thinclients (wyse with windows7 embedded) in a classroom. The thinclients start with an openbox-session. So far it works fine, but there is a little problem: If more than 2 or 3 clients log on at exactly the same time, some of them stop at the black screen before the gray X2Go Logo appears. There is no error message. With a little timeshift of 2 or 3 seconds between the logons, there are no problems. Can anyone get a little help to solve this? Regards, Th.Hanschke

Your BTS does not cooperate with Comcast

I use Comcast which happens to be the US's largest ISP. I have to use them for SMTP delivery (as they block the outgoing port). But sending mail from me to you BTS fails for your greylisting, and Comcast being Comcast goes into _abort_ rather than _retry_. Dirk

x2go desktop sharing under Ubuntu

Hi x2go users and devs! I installed x2go server under Ubuntu 12.04 from the x2go ppa. The server is running KDE and I'm hoping to share just one users KDE desktop with various clients (at least 1) although I have only tried logging in from Windows 7 so far and I always get a new desktop instead of being presented to option of or automatically getting logged onto the already running desktop. I asked about this in IRC and I was told that x2godesktopsharing need not be installed on the server to achieve what I want as I thought that would be the way to do this initially. Instead I was told I needed to suspend my session but I'm not sure how that process is supposed to work. I installed the KDE x2go plasmoid but that only seems to be able to suspend desktops that have logged in remotely- the suspend option is greyed out for user logged in locally. The user I'm trying to desktop share with is added to both of the x2go groups. Is this known to work as I want currently? If so, are there any relevant guides or docs?

Daniel?) update the wiki pages for the client-side X2Go applications and review or explain how to install x2goclient[1], pyhoca-gui[2], pyhoca-cli[3] on RPM based distros? In the wiki it is mostly referred to RHEL6. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to reference all RPM based distro the installation works on? Hi all, x2go is quite nice to connect from Windoze to a few Ubuntu machines at work, and I am very glad that you guys carry on from the various Nx projects In order to permit multiple machine entries, I fiddled with PyHoca (0.4.0.1), but seem to have corrupted the file by adding multiple entries with the same key. Unity and LXDE with x2go - a quick test

I ran some tests from Windows and Ubuntu trying to start Unity and LXDE sessions on Ubuntu 12.04. The findings: - LXDE and x2go work OK. - Unity is IMO close to unusable with x2go. Setup: Ubuntu 12.04 with x2goclient 4.0.0.4, x2goserver 4.0.0.0-0~640~precise1 Windows 7 with x2goclient 4.0.0.3. Unity Open (Linux/Windows): The window is resized to fullscreen during session startup, completely ignoring whatever resolution I might have chosen in the settings. Resize(Linux/Windows): Resizing the Unity window does not work, e.g. the window size changes but the content "does not get it". LXDE Open (Linux): Works correctly. Open (Windows): The client window is too small for the content. Presumably [0]. Resize (Linux/Windows): When resizing the client window, the taskbar is "forgotten". It just stays where it is while the rest is resized. I can trigger the taskbars resize reliably when I open a new window or move the mouse over buttons on the taskbar that change their appearance on mouseover. Disable x2goclient audio support? (bluetooth headset trouble)

I use a bluetooth headset for music and voip. When I start x2goclient on Windows 7, it forces the headset into a low-quality profile (no session is open, just the client). This is expected to happen if an application wants to use the microphone. I presume x2go opens audio sources and sinks in order to forward them to a client later and so Windows thinks it needs to switch to another profile. When I close x2goclient again, the headset switches back to the high quality profile. I can disable the headsets microphone manually inside the windows audio settings. But then, of course, I can no longer use the microphone for voip. It would be nice to have some kind of switch to disable x2gos audio support completely (or to be able to select which devices are forwarded). As a workaround, it seems to work if I just rename pulseaudio.exe to something else. Thanks! Christoph

Hi everyone, is it possible to restrict a x2go session to a certain amount of moitors / displays? Usage: I got 4 monitors connected to to my developer machine. The goal is to use 3 monitors for one x2go session and 1 monitor for the local machine. Thanks for your help! Regards, Thomas
