Hi! I tried x2go-server on 2 diffrent computers both with Ubuntu 22.04. In both cases x2go works out of the box, but cups-x2go / x2go client-side printing does not. On my old server with Ubuntu 18.04 it works fine. I see the jobs in the print queue with the notice "held for authentification" any ideas what I can do to debug & fix this issue ? thank you! Martin

incorrect keycodes when connecting from a Mac x2go client to an x2go server on Ubuntu

Dear all, I suspect I’ve hit a bug. The problem is as follows: when connecting with the x2go client [4.1.2.2 (Qt - 4.8.7)] running on a Mac to a desktop session running on Ubuntu 22.04 (in the “X2G0/X11 Desktop Sharing” mode to the x2goserver version 4.1.0.3), some simple keystrokes on the client side generate spurious 3-keycode sequences, rendering the connection almost unusable. What has been done: I have read the thread from 2019 on probably the same bug on this mailing list (https://www.mail-archive.com/x2go-user@lists.x2go.org/msg03409.html) but no solution was published there. I have tried all suggestions from the thread and other places, including trying to force the keyboard model/variant/layout/etc (BTW the rmlvo method didn’t work for me at all, but this is a different story) and switching on and of key conversion on connection, but nothing worked so far. This problem pops up only for connections to a desktop, if I run an app, e.g xterm, through x2go - everything is fine. I’d appreciate if somebody could give me a hint on what I could look into. ssh error

Hello everyone, I am getting a new error with pyhoca-cli: paramiko.hostkeys.InvalidHostKey: ('192.168.0.127 ssh-rsa AABgQC7ZFjl2e+zxzL4wHBeHnntE5fno0AoGJJbI4IHmRbMmsM88bq9FLQlZ/UMAAAAB3NzaC1yc2EAAAADAQABAA96lmxTgFLEBJWMD+Ye+3UMJlfrsYCkSAj3192.168.0.195 ssh-ed25519 AAAAC3NzaCDW/dw1lZDI1NTE5AAAAIHRAkIk0Yfsf1H/0i5xizVZ+UogtQ62ze0zeOnW', Error('Invalid base64-encoded string: number of data characters (133) cannot be 1 more than a multiple of 4')) (I have mangled the key information in the error message above). I can ssh to the server and can use x2goclient without any problem. Strangely, I get a similar error with xpra. It seems to me that something has changed in a python library with a recent upgrade (since both pyhoca-cli and xpra worked without any problems earlier). But I can't seem to figure out what it is. Would appreciate help. V.

hi all, i have seen X2Go server comes with a build in html5 plugin for clients, so they can access the client using there web browser instead of installing the actual client i have seen this how to https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:advanced:x2gohtmlclient but when it says " X2Go provides instructions for configuring the NGINX web server " where is that as i cant see it, or am i being stupid and missing it do i just need to edit the nginx conf and add this to the end? Session resume broken when keyboard explicitly configured

Hello, after updating my Devuan chimaera (Debian 11.1) remote system to x2goserver etc. 4.1.0.4-0x2go1.2~git20220808.1949+11.heuler.1, session resume stopped working, nothing happened and I was getting a timeout eventually. My previous (working) version was from May, so I wanted to revert, but unfortunately the packet repo http://packages.x2go.org/debian/pool/heuler/x/x2goserver/ had only versions from August 8. It would be really good if there were older versions available for such a case... I found out that things started to work again if I set keyboard configuration to automatic, before it was set to pc105, layout de. This needs to be addressed, I guess. After setting the keyboard to automatic, the backspace key stopped working, among other keymap issues (only appearing after resume). This can be fixed with - keyboard_type='null\/null' + keyboard_type='null/null' in /usr/bin/x2goresume-session Hanno

x2go immediately disconnects after connection

Dear all, I've been using X2Go on a pair of openSUSE Tumbleweed systems. I just upgraded both and now I'm no longer able to run a remote application or desktop -- the client successfully connects to the server but then immediately disconnects. Can't use microphone in x2goclient on MacOS

Hello. I hope I'm in the right place (otherwise please tell me where to go, thanks!) I have a Linux x2go server with several x2go clients connecting to it, all but one run on windows (where I already know my way around and have successfully troubleshooted several issues), and one running on MacOS Monterrey 12.5.- The problem I have with this client is I can't get microphone sound to reach the x2goserver. I can receive audio in the mac, and in Linux (pavucontrol) I see the microphone being listed, it's enabled and selected and it's not muted, but when I speak I get no sound. In the Mac's sound configuration I see the vumeter move when I speak, and I can record audio in other MacOS applications (for example if I go to www.onlinemictest.com on Safari, the mic works). I didn't find any program or tool to select which stream each application records (like pavucontrol on Linux). Any help is appreciated. Thanks!! Julian

gnome keyring unlock with login

My debian system is set up to unlock the gnome keyring when I log into gnome. When I remote into the machine using x2go I have to use xfce since gnome hasn't worked with x2go for a long time. I have tried many things in xfce to try to have the gnome keyring unlocked at login. It seems like the problem is that x2go does not log in the same way as would be logged in if logging directly. X2go does not appear to trigger any of the pam settings to unlock the gnome keyring. Is there any way to have x2go automatically unlock the keyring when making a connection? I would assume that if the keyring was unlocked when creating the connection that it would remain unlocked on a pause and reconnect. Brent

Menu won't stay up

Greetings, I am trying to use a cloud VM as my host. The host and guest are Linux. Host: Ubuntu 22.04 server with mate-desktop and x3goserver installed Guest: Fedora 35 When the guest connects, I get a desktop. In the upper left corner, I get a Menu. When I click on the menu, a sub-menu gets displayed. However, it disappears before I can select anything. How can I make the menu work correctly, i.e., stay up until I select something? Thank you. X3go win client quits

Folks I use the X2go client on Windows 10 to access several Linux hosts (mostly Ubuntu). Most work just fine, except one. On this node (let's call it SC), the moment X2go Windows client starts the connect, it terminates. I have selected 'display details', but the client disappears before anything shows up. Since this sequence works talking to Ubuntu 20.04, 22.04, and Centos 7, I'm thinking it has to do with the server... The SC server is running Debian 7 wheezy. I know this is seriously out of date, but updating to a newer release at this time is not possible. The x2go daemon is version 4.0.1.16-0x2go1+git20140926.935+wheezy.main I can successfully connect to the server via SSH (using password), so I know that "ssh works". Any pointers you could provide to help me debug the issue would be appreciated. David

Just noticed that mounting of my home dir is failing. Hi folks, I recently upgraded to Fedora 36 which includes more gtk4 versions of apps and discovered that they don't work in x2go: [jrb@fedora ~]$ ldd /usr/bin/gnome-chess | grep gtk libgtk-4.so.1 => /lib64/libgtk-4.so.1 (0x00007fb628e7b000) [jrb@fedora ~]$ gnome-chess (gnome-chess:2552687): Gdk-ERROR **: 07:55:29.217: XInput2 support not found on display Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped) >From a cursory googling around this issue it appears there isn't anything on the user side that can be done about this on an app-by-app basis, is that right? Performance on external monitor

Hi folks, Super happy x2go user on a Thinkpad P1 Gen2 with a 4k screen running Fedora with XFCE. I segregate clients and personal work into distinct users and run 5 or 6 x2go sessions at the same time, switching between them with desktop workspace hotkeys monitored by the master session. Performance is great, even video within an x2go session is terrific. Today the Thinkpad's screen decided to start to fail, so I connected the laptop over HDMI to a 4k external monitor. Now, unfortunately, x2go performance is really suffering- window repaints within a session even with only 1 session are so slow as to be essentially unusable. Window repaints and other rendering activity on the master X session seem about the same. All sessions are 3840x2160, using "LAN", "16m-jpeg", image quality 9. I played a little with those settings but nothing made a material difference. I don't know anything about the X display architecture or the hardware path. Any thoughts from anyone who does on any options to improve x2go performance on an external monitor? Thanks, cheers, Jonah

@ the Debian repository admin: When running "apt update" I get this warning: W: Conflicting distribution: http://packages.x2go.org/debian stable InRelease (expected stable but got buster) In /etc/apt/sources.list.d/x2go.list I have: deb http://packages.x2go.org/debian stable main I think there the "stable" link points to buster: http://packages.x2go.org/debian/dists/ R. -- richard lucassen http://contact.xaq.nl/

No connetion after Update to Ubuntu 22.04 (Openssh)

Hi, with latest version of Ubuntu I'm getting an error when trying to connect with windows x2go client to Ubuntu 22.04 machine (I think it's not so relevant that it's ubuntu 22.04 but newer openssh version 8.9): "kex error: no match for method kex algos:server [Diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256], client [curve255519-sha256(a)libssh.org,ecdh-sha2-nistp256,Diffie-hellman-group14-sha 1,Diffie-hellman-group1-sha1]" I have tried to adapt sshd_config via: "HostKeyAlgorithms ecdsa-sha2-nistp256-cert-v01@openssh.com,ecdsa-sha2-nistp384-cert-v01@openss h.com,ecdsa-sha2-nistp521-cert-v01@openssh.com,ssh-ed25519-cert-v01@openssh. com,ssh-rsa-cert-v01@openssh.com,ssh-dss-cert-v01@openssh.com,ecdsa-sha2-nis tp256,ecdsa-sha2-nistp384,ecdsa-sha2-nistp521,ssh-ed25519,ssh-rsa,ssh-dss" After that I have restarted sshd service but that did not help. I also tried: HostKeyAlgorithms ssh-rsa,ssh-dss PubkeyAcceptedKeyTypes ssh-rsa,ssh-dss The error message is the same. So I assume that the error is not what the message is telling me but I know that with some of the latest openssh versions several other clients run into problems (putty latest versions fixed it, jump desktop - setting PubkeyAcceptedKeyTypes=+ssh-rsa did work) Any ideas?
