Your fix for installing x2godesktopsharing probably is this: apt-get install x2godesktopsharing -t wheezy-backports This won't pull in an x2godesktopsharing from wheezy-backports (as there is no such build), but it will try to fulfill missing dependency requirements for non-installed libqt* packages from wheezy-backports. Intermittent problems reconnecting to X2Go server

When I try to reconnect to a X2Go session it sometimes fails, if I use x2goclient-cli I can see this error message on the client side: channel 1: open failed: connect failed: Connection refused I've have experienced this problem for a long time (years), but haven't reported it because I haven't found a way to reliably reproduce it. Connection Failed?

Hi, Just started to use x2go on a Fedora system here. The system crashed and the client can no longer connect to the server. It gets: Connection failed tput: No value for $TERM and no -T specified Been doing lots of searches on this, but didn't come back with anything. Is there a way to clear this problem? Hello List, Print-Screen Function seems not to be working in the windows client for X2GO, but it's working on x2goclient for Linux. Any thoughts/experience on this matter? The setup in use is the kind of X2GO acts as a gateway/proxy to a windows 2008r2 Server using xfreerdp to connect to a windows server. Hello, I'm sorry for the slightly offtopic message, but I thought somebody around here might be interested: Since we ceased using the SunRay thinclient system[0] here at our department, we will give away the following for free: 45 SunRay thinclients, mostly SunRay1 (VGA only), some SunRay1G (1 DVI port) and 8 SunRay2FS (2 DVI ports, faster processor)[1]. Condition is usually okayish, some have slightly broken VGA/DVI output which causes display glitches, some have trouble with the power supply. You will need the appropriate SunRay Server Software (see [0]), including licenses which we cannot provide you with, to use the hardware. There is no alternative firmware, Linux distribution or (working) alternative server software that I know of. X2Go definitely won't run on a SunRay. But maybe you have a preexisting SunRay infrastructure and need some spare thinclients. The SunRays can be picked up in 91058 Erlangen, Germany (preferred) or be mailed to you (only within the EU, I don't want to deal with customs) if you reimburse the postage fees. Problems with Screen Saver in kubuntu 14.04.

Hi. In Kubuntu 14.04 does not work native Screen Saver. Lock settings are set to 1 minute wait. But after this time, nothing happens. The logs written «Xlib: extension" MIT-SCREEN-SAVER "missing on display" ». Is it possible to do so would native Screen saver work?

Libreoffice 4.x on X2go in Unity

Hi There is an odd problem when we launch Libreoffice 4.x spreadsheets in X2go: If we open more than 3 spreadsheets at a time, some documents seems to be open in the task management panel, even if they are closed down. The problem does not occur with Libreoffice textdocuments. Neither do the problem occur on Libreoffice 3.x. And finally, the problem does not occur if I log on directly on the server without X2go. The server is running Ubuntu 12.04 Unity. I have tried with both X2goclient and pyhoca client on Ubuntu 14.04. I attach a screenshot. Regards Kjetil

As Mike mentions, the problem *could be* solved by teaching people what x2go suspend currently means. That can work but to me... its not natural. It reminds me of an old cartoon where a plumber had installed the hot & cold shower controls backwards (hot=cold, cold=hot)... The plumber was talking to the homeowner telling him... Stopping a session from suspending on disconnect

Hi All, I've been using x2go on a number of machines that we have remote users connect to for a while now. Before using x2go we were using neatx, but the development on that seems to have stalled and isn't available packaged for newer Linux distributions. X2go is generally working well as a replacement (thanks guys!), however one complaint that I'm getting from users is that x2go suspends sessions on disconnect. Some users have graphical tools that they are kicking off to run long tasks and want to disconnect, leaving the task to complete (for example, over night) without needing the session to be maintained. This was the default behaviour in neatx and hence the behaviour that the users have come to expect (sessions wouldn't suspend on disconnect). Is there any mechanism built into x2go to achieve this? Hello, When using the broker with Apache and WSGI, it is possible to have the client perform NTLM authentication against Apache? That way we can offer single sign-on for our users, we want to authenticate against an AD server and some clients are Windows desktop machines. Thanks Michael

In preparation for the upcoming release of X2Go Client 4.0.3.0, a preview build of X2Go Client for Windows is available for download under: http://code.x2go.org/releases/binary-win32/x2goclient/previews/4.0.3.0/ (Last I talked with Mike#1, X2Go Client 4.0.3.0 is due sometime next month.) It is based on commit 2ffcad0 (which should have fixed bug #566, but testing is still pending) and is built with MinGW 4.8. (X2Go Client 4.0.2.1 was built with MinGW 4.4.) The default build is the same as the nightly build 4.0.3.0-2014.09.16-2ffcad0 (except for the updated version string in add/remove programs and the filename.) The debug build is also available here: http://code.x2go.org/releases/binary-win32/x2goclient/previews/4.0.3.0/non-… There are no longer any miscfonts or fullfonts builds because those fonts are now optional components in the installer. x2go with broker - disabled suspend?

Hello, I am using the latest release of x2go QT client with a broker and a few x2go servers. I would like to disable the suspend option and always terminate, is that possible? I can't find a configuration option. The end users are running browsers only, if I could run a script on suspend or disconnect I could just kill the session myself. Michael

Last I heard, X2Go Client 4.0.3.0 is scheduled to be released sometime next month. If you encounter a bug/issue, please test if the corresponding MinGW 4.4 build is affected also. You can tell what build you are running by going to help -> About Qt. MinGW 4.4 builds use Qt 4.8.5. MinGW 4.8 builds use Qt 4.8.6 Technically the builds are not "nightly builds" because they are automatically built whenever an x2goclient git commit is pushed to code.x2go.org. The 7 characters at the end of the version string is the git short hash of the git commit (revision) it was built from. This enables testers and developers to identify what exact version of X2Go Client they are using when there are multiple commits the same day. I just updated our build scripts to add this feature. Caps-lock key as Ctrl

Hi, This probably another Caps Lock problem with remote desktop applications. I am an emacs user and I have made Caps-lock key an additional control key on both of my computers (using similar settings as http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/MovingTheCtrlKey#toc2 ). All my computers are running Mate desktop 1.8 and Caps-lock key work as expected (i.e. as ctrl) on both computers on local session. However, when I am connected to the other computer using x2go pressing caps-lock key seem to do nothing at all on remote session - pressing caps-c just prints lowercase c in terminal (& in emacs). Checking the output on xev on remote session does show keycode 66. This issue is really getting into my work flow as I am a heavy emacs user. Is there a solution or workaround? Could using a custom ~/.xmodmap resolve the issue? I just want caps-lock key to always work as ctrl and I am fine with totally getting rid of caps-lock behavior. PS: Thanks a lot for developing x2go. There's no such hard deadline as for the room reservations, but you will need to "check in" (see "Admission fee" below) for our gathering with the Linuxhotel staff, so please *do* let us know in advance. *Costs for Linuxhotel hotel rooms* Rooms are available at 15 EUR/night (and since we're a two-night-, three-day event, expect to pay 30 EUR total for the room). Note that this is the price for a *shared* room, i.e. you will have at least one other person (in some rooms, even two) sleeping in the same room with you. If you want a *single room*, the *price doubles* and we need to know *ASAP*, as the amount of single rooms at Linuxhotel is *very* limited - only 3 rooms available! It is also possible to book only one of the two nights if you can't make it for the entire weekend, but don't want to miss out on all the fun. *Admission fee* 5 EUR/day, again, since we're a three-day event, expect to 15 EUR total. This is a per-person conference room/infrastructure rent and beverages flat rate - *this includes beer and wine*! Food is not included in this fee. Expect that there will be no lunch/dinner served by Linuxhotel, thus it's totally cool with the Linuxhotel management if you bring your own (if you're flying in from abroad, please check import restrictions) or order from a delivery service. *Payment* You will have to pay in cash *upon arriving at Linuxhotel*. No system tray for remote applications

Greetings. My host machine runs KDE 4 on openSUSE. Occasionally I want to run remote KDE applications such as KTorrent or Kopete which are supposed to display an icon in the system tray. However, when invoked over x2goclient, the remote application's system tray icon is never displayed in my local machine's system tray. This is especially frustrating for applications which I've set to start minimized to the system tray by default, since then I have no way of getting them to appear on my desktop. (They run in the background just fine, but I have no way of interacting with them.) I was wondering if this is a known issue or if there's something I'm doing wrong. If this is a known issue, is it something that needs to be fixed in x2goclient or in the KDE applications themselves?
