Hi ! My x2gobroker installation works very. Just a little problem : AltGr doesn't work (nightly build) I run a x2goserver with xubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bits If i connect x2gocient directly to x2goserver, no keyboard issue, everything works : € | ... Then i try to test a connexion trough a broker. To start a desktop session I must have two parameters : * command=startxfce4 * type=Custom desktop But then, AltGr doesn't work. If I add this, the issue comes again * layout=fr * model=pc105/fr or pc105 If type=auto, then AltGr works ! Kerberos and X@Go Mac Client

I’m having trouble with Kerberos authentication with a Mac client. I am using x2goclient-4.0.4.0-preview2 on a Mac running OS X 10.9.5, connecting to Ubuntu 14.0.4 running x2goserver-4.0.1.19. Here are the symptoms: 1) Connecting with kerberos and ssh works fine. I run kinit to get my tgt, and then ssh works without prompting for any sort of authentication. 2) When I tell X2Go to authenticate using kerberos, it connects without apparent error, but my keyboard mapping is bizarre (and pretty much useless). 3) When I tell X2Go to use the default authentication, it waits for some time (maybe 30 sec or 1 min), and pops up a dialog box, asking for a passphrase to decrypt a key. Whether I click OK or cancel, it then pops up a new dialog box, with the following text: "Received SSH_MSG_DISCONNECT: 2:Too many authentication failures for dritch Invalid state in ssh_userauth_kbdint” 4) When I configure an ssh key pair for passwordless login, and configure the X2Go client to use default user authentication, all works fine. 5) Before, when I used the 4.0.3.2 release client, it had very similar behavior. However, in that case, when connecting using kerberos authentication, it also popped up a dialog box with an scp error message. Am I doing something wrong? How can I make this work? Thanks! David

Unity, Alt+Tab and Alt+`

Hello, list! I use x2go client 4.0.1.1 (Qt 4.8.6) and x2go server 4.0.1.19 with unity (ubuntu 12.04) on my server machine and twm on client one. Alt+Tab works perfectly except that it shows all windows icons but not one icon of each type. Alt+` (switching between windows of the same kind) allows only switching to next or previous sibling, switching to any another using e.g. Alt+`+`+` simply closes the switching dialog. Is this a bug, and is there a way to fix it by some kind of workaround? Regards, Alexey Bashtanov

debian testing repo throws error

Hi, I just tried to add the debian repo for my testing system as per the instructions <http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:repositories:debian#adding_this_reposito…>. I replace 'jessie' in the template with 'testing' but on apt-get update, I get the following error message: W: Conflicting distribution: http://packages.x2go.org testing InRelease (expected testing but got stretch) Stretch is the current testing name. Testing seems to be available here <http://packages.x2go.org/debian/dists/>, so I don't know what's causing this. Changing the dist name to stretch fixes the issue - however this will require changes to the sources.d file once the dist name changes in the future (not a big deal but still weird). Just wanted to let you know and would be interested in suggestions. Best, Sebastian

Japsand Maintenance Aftermath a.k.a. "Lessons Learned"

Hi Due to a hanging rm process, we had to restart the server today. After rebooting the machine, it was decided to also update the system to the latest packages version, but still staying on Debian Wheezy (for now.) The server is using a custom kernel module provided by Realtek for its RTL8168 ethernet NIC. An in-kernel driver is available, but proved to be too unreliable, leading to frequent network outages and even machine crashes whenever the network IO load was higher than a few hundred KB/s. The hosting provider has a wiki entry for this issue at this location: http://wiki.hetzner.de/index.php/Installation_des_r8168-Treibers/en Unfortunately, the current driver version as provided by Realtek, 8.040, seems to be incompatible with the old 3.2.0-4-amd64 (3.2.68-1+deb7u2) kernel provided by Debian. As of writing this, I do not know what happened exactly, but most likely the module caused a kernel panic during bootup. Reverting to an older version, 8.037, fixed this issue and let the server boot up correctly again. For future maintenance work, please use this older version, at least on Debian Wheezy. I put the module source code into /usr/src and created a symlink from /usr/src/r8168-current to /usr/src/r8168-8.037.00. --- Other updated packages include Java (version 7 co-installed, the "alternatives" symlink now point to version 7 instead of 6) and Jenkins, including its plugins. A test build run suggests the Jenkins update was successful. Mihai

I can't find x2godesktopsharing

I am running Mint 17 (Ubuntu 14.04 derivative) and installed sudo add-apt-repository ppa:x2go/stable and per instructions: sudo aptitude install x2godeskstopsharing Couldn't find any package whose name or description matched "x2godeskstopsharing" So I downloaded http://code.x2go.org/releases/source/x2goserver/x2goserver-4.0.1.19.tar.gz and I don't find a trace of x2godeskstopsharing in the source code. x2goclient on xubuntu 14.10 mini pc with arm processor , menus and icons not displayed

I have installed x2goclient V 4.0.2.1(Qt - 4.8.6) with os xubuntu 14.10 and used x2goclient to logon to a linux server with Fedora linux v 22. I am able to logon without problems, but the top menu is not displayed. I am just able to see the background picture. I am further not able to for example rightclick the mouse to display menu. Xubuntu installed on a cloudsto mk902 mini pc with CPU - Rockchip RK3188 Quad Core (Cortex A9 Quad Core upto 1.6GHz) cpu. I am however able to workaround the problem by first starting an x2goclient session from for example a windows platform or from a memory stick with the ubuntu os, and then just close the session without logout clicking x in the top right corner of the screen. Resuming this session from the xubuntu mini pc, I do get the menu displayed correctly even though the colors get a little distorted. I have compared processes running starting a session from the xubuntu pc with no menu displayed as compared to a session in which the menu is displayed correctly, and it seems like processes have not been started when no menu is displayed, for example the following processes: xfwm4 /usr/lib64/xfce4/panel/wrapper /usr/lib64/xfce4/panel/plugins/libactions.so 2 14680095 actions Handlingknapper Logg ut, lås eller andre systemvalg /usr/lib64/xfce4/panel/wrapper /usr/lib64/xfce4/panel/plugins/libsystray.so 6 14680097 systray Systemkurv Område som viser beskjedikoner Any ideas as to what is causing this problem and a solution to problem? x2gogetports and x2gogetdisplays Issues

I'm trying to get a fresh install working on Ubuntu 12.04 and Fluxbox. Currently I'm trying to either connect to the existing display or run a custom command. I am simply testing via localhost for now. I can connect succesfully to the server however nothing happens once connected. I have turned up the logging level to debug and get constantly repeating syslog errors (every second) of; Jun 18 15:11:45 cfd-018 /usr/lib/x2go/x2gogetports[22002]: db_getports called, server: test-server; return value: Jun 18 15:11:45 cfd-018 /usr/lib/x2go/x2gogetdisplays[22033]: db_getdisplays called, server: test-server; return value: On running either x2gogetports or x2gogetdisplays manually they both produce the error; Died at /usr/lib/x2go/x2gogetports line 34. Died at /usr/lib/x2go/x2gogetdisplays line 34. Line 34 refers to 'my $host=shift or die;'. It seems like the scripts are unable to get a host and then prevents a display from being detected. However, the x2goclient has no problem detecting the displays. Using the following; X2Go Client v. 4.0.4.0 x2goagent: 3.5.0.31 x2goserver: 4.0.1.19 x2goserver-extensions: 4.0.1.19 x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.19 Any ideas on how to continue to debug this? X2go server does not work correctly when installed after nomachine nxserver 3.5.x

I attempted to replace the nomachine 3.5 product on my Centos 6.6 servers with an X2go server, but I cannot log on to it. The popup error is: Connection failed xset: unable to open display "" xset: unable to open display "" Most of the advice about this error suggests that ssh X remoting is not working, but I've verified that it is useing either an exported DISPLAY or the -X option. However; if I logon as root it works! If I create a NEW user on the server and logon to that it works. I just can't logon to a user that used to run NX! I took a problem user's home dir and moved it, and created an empty home, and x2go logs on correctly. So its something to do with the settings in the old home dirs as established by NX I suppose but I can't figure out what. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance wendell nichols

Hi I normally do not announce new releases via our -user and -dev mailing lists. This time, the situation is special. Active users of cups-x2go should update as soon as possible due to the security fixes implemented in the new version. Non-active users of cups-x2go do not need to take immediate action, but are likewise encouraged to update. To make sure that cups-x2go is not being used, you can remove user accounts from the group fuse (or whatever is appropriate for your distribution.) As cups-x2go requires sshfs, non-access to fuse is a way to deny functionality. As cups-x2go is part of both Fedora and EPEL, this is of special interest for Orion. I will provide you with an CVE ID as soon as one has been assigned. It has been already requested. Mihai

Hi My x2gobroker installation works very well (nightly build). I have a question about x2godbadmin and the --addgroup option. I have supposed that run the command x2godbadmin --addgroup x2gouser add the group in the PostgreSQL database and then all members of the x2gouser can access to x2goserver But after that, it appears that new user add to the group can't open a x2gosession. x2goserver say : "Can't read password file /home/xxxx/.x2go/sqlpass". So, what do really this command ? * Read the content of the /etc/group/ * find x2gouser line * read the users that are member * add on per one in the database the user and write a ~/.x2go/sqlpass for each one ? desktop freezes when connection lost

Love x2go, but one significant annoyance. If I sleep my client without first shutting down x2go, then when it wakes, desktop is unresponsive until x2go timesout, and asks whether to terminate. I don't know what x2go is doing that freezes desktop, but I don't think this should happen. I'm using kde on client side. I saw this behavior for some time, both on kde4 (fedora f22) and now on kf5 (fedora 23).

FC22 What Works - What Doesn't

The following Window Managers work: LXDE, XFCE, MATE, OPENBOX, and ICEWM The following doesn't work: KDE (black screen) GNOME (Oh No Something Went Wrong!) Unity (Oh No Something Went Wrong!) Cinnamon (Crashed - Fallback Mode, and that leaves just wallpaper) Trinity (Can't run starttrinity, may not be properly installed) On all of the Window managers that work, logout only works on ICEWM, all the others I have to terminate the session. x2go not working with fedora f22 kde?

I just updated server to f22 (actually, clean install of OS). When I try to start x2go client (from fedora f21), I get don't seem to get any kde desktop. If kde was configured to restore session, I just get the window that I had used previously (konsole), but no panel - no action on right click on desktop - no way to start anything or do anything. I tried mv'ing ~/.x2go on the server, but that didn't help. Tried mv'ing ~/.kde on the server - still no help. Nothing logged under ~/.x2go, where are the logs? -- Those who fail to understand recursion are doomed to repeat it

x2gobroker resume session

Hi. I use the nightly build on a 14.04 Ubuntu Could anyone confim me that resuming/suspending a session is functionnal trough a broker ? I can resume/suspend a session directly to a x2goserver but i can't with the broker. Regards Franck

Hi. When I open a session x2goclient -> x2goserver there is no problem to resume a session When I open a session x2goclient -> x2gobroker -> x2goserver it is not possible to resume a session. Any idea ? Regards Franck

Hello, I have been reviewing the docs here: http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:installation:x2gobroker and am interested in: "Furthermore, X2Go Session Broker can be extended by other (non-PAM) authentication methods. Hi I have a curious problem : When a connect directly to my x2goserver (ubuntu 14.04 XCFE) : * no problem to use AltGr * numeric pad is OK * my keyboard is in azerty When a connect trough the x2gobroker to the same x2goserver (ubuntu 14.04 XFCE) : * AltGr is not fonctionnal * numeric pad is not fully functionnal (enter does not work nor /) * keyboard is in azerty In my x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf I add with no success * layout=fr * model=pc105 Any idea ?
