*pyhoca-cli* has the *--server* option to specify the IP of the target desktop server but using *x2goclient* from the CLI apparently *does not* provide that option ? is there a reason it doesn't or couldn't ? thanks Brian

x2go plasma 5 support

I'm using plasma 5 with x2go for remote sessions, knowing the glx 1.3 limitation for running plasmashell. I can use x2go for remote session with plasma 5, besides the crashes that happens with kdeinit after login and with plasmashell when trying logout. For solving the logout crash I terminate x2go session and remotely kill all the applications that haven't finished. Besides this login and logout problems, every other applications I use seems to work as expected. Since this is a bit annoying I ask the developers if it is expected x2go to support kde5? Thanks

'stty -tostop' in shell config file prevents X2Go connection

Hi, is the following a bug or expected behavior? stty -tostop is in user shell configuration file on remote machine. Local log on to remote machine is no problem. X2Go connection to remote machine cannot be established with error message: Error --- Connection failed. stty: 'standard input': Inappropriate ioctl for device stty: 'standard input': Inappropriate ioctl for device [OK] Removing the line was the only way to solve the issue. I tested with: - Bash and TCSH ${HOME}/.bashrc ${HOME}/.cshrc - X2Go server: x2goserver-4.0.1.19-11.fc24.x86_64 Fedora 24 x86_64 - X2Go client: x2goclient-4.0.5.1-1.fc24.x86_64 on Fedora 24 x86_64 and Mac OS X 10.10 -- Kind regards, René

Ubuntu 16.04.1

There is definitely a bug in x2go operating under Ubuntu 16.04.1. I upgraded a machine that was running Ubuntu 15.10. I have my x2go client configured to use display 1. Under 15.10, when I connected it did use my entire screen but I could still switch work spaces using control+alt+arrows as desired. After this same machine was upgraded to 16.04.1 LTS, when I connect it uses my whole screen locally but creates a window in it that is 600x800 or thereabouts of the remote machine instead of using the entire display. I changed nothing else when I did this upgrade. Problems with shared folders

Hi all I have installed x2go and so far it is working fine except two things: - automounting of shared folders - (auto)-mounting of client-local media After reading, searching and trying for some days now, I'm stuck and need help. Some details about the involved machines: Server: Xubuntu 16.04.1 on an ESXi (4GB RAM, 4vCPU, 30GB Disk) Clients: - HP t5540 thin client with lubuntu 16.04.1 on it - an older kubuntu (14 something) on a normal PC On all machines the current (stable) x2go version from the ppa is installed. In the session-settings, I configured a shared folder "media". I installed x2gousbmount to be able to mount an usb key on clientside. The users on the server are in the "fuse" group. After connecting to the session I can't find my local shared folder. X2Go Server and Ubuntu 16.04.1

I've got x2go on a number of Ubuntu 15.10 servers and no problem with them. I recently installed a new server with Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS and there is a nasty problem with it. On the client side, I select Display 1, on the 15.10 servers this fives me a full screen like the Full Screen selection except I can switch between workspaces on my local machine with control+alt+arrows. On 16.04.1 LTS instead of getting a full screen, it gives me a full black screen with a 600x800 window in the upper left into the 16.04.1 server. I know 16.04.1 made some changes to Xorg. I am using Mate for the desktop on both systems but on 15.10 I installed the Mate spin of Ubuntu, however, with 16.04 I used the Server install and then installed Mate after the fact. If I try to use System->Preferences->Hardware->Display it tells me that xrandr version is too old, says I need 1.3 and it is 1.2, however, xrandr says program version is 1.5 but server reports 1.2, where as in 15.10 this works properly. x2go TCE ip of clients

Hello again, I have a server (UBUNTU 14.04) and a TCE with several thinclients. They are connected to the server by a separate network and get their IPs from the DHCP running on the (pxe)server. I know - on the server - to get the names of the (via x2go) logged in users but I need the IP address of the thinclient as well - means e.g.: bert - 192.168.0.50 eve - 192.168.0.51 a.s.o. Is there a (simple) way to get this info? No, I can't work with static IPs for the clients and my users are not always using the same client ... Thanks for any hint. Christian

Hello everybody, my scenario: in my company 6 colleagues are working in the same office building as I am and 2 are only working from their home office. We are all using the same server placed "out of sight" in an other building and are connected via x2go (TCE in the office) to the server. The server (running UBUNTU 14.04) is protected against power loss by an ups that is monitored via usb and NUT on the server. The problem is to send messages regarding critical conditions (e.g. power loss) to all - via x2go - connected users. This is necessary because the NUT NOTIFYCMD script starts a controlled shutdown sequence (putting several running virtual machines to safestate a.s.o. and finally shutting down the server) after 3 minutes running on battery. These messages are send by nut via wall automatically but this is not the way as none of the users has open a terminal - all are working under their LXDE/OpenBox GUI. x2go hang on CentOS7

Hi, I've used x2go on a number of systems without problem in the past, however on a CentOS7 server running SSSD to provide AD authentication I'm seeing clients (both Windows and Linux) just hang when trying to connect. x2goclient & SLITAZ 4.0 / 5.0

Hello all, I don't know if someone knows SLITAZ (http://www.slitaz.org/en/) - it's an extreme small Linux OS build from scratch but with similarities to Debian / Ubuntu. It has it's own package manager but it is possible to convert .deb packages to SLITAZ-packages. I did this with - x2goclient_4.0.1.1-1~bpo7+1_i386.deb I could install this package and everything is looking fine - but: When I start a connection it is build up but than immediately closed. x2go with SSH two-factor authentication

Hi! My employer use two-factor authentication via Yubikey. Whenever I SSH to my development server, I use Kerberos to authenticate, and then it prompts for a Yubikey or Duo code. If I try to connect via the X2Go client, I get a message like this: Authentication failed. Check your GSSApi configuration or choose another authentication method. Checking the logs on the server, it looks like Kerberos auth is successful, but then X2Go is disconnecting once it receives the keyboard-interactive auth request. I managed to get it working using a super hacky method: I connect to my server via my regular SSH client, and forward some random port (eg. 1234) to localhost:22. Then I connect to localhost:1234 in X2Go, essentially tunneling a new SSH connection over the existing SSH connection. The server is configured to allow local connections to bypass two-factor auth, so this works around the issue in X2Go. It seems silly to tunnel SSH over SSH though. Any ideas on how to get this working properly with X2Go? It looks like Paramiko supports this configuration: https://github.com/paramiko/paramiko/pull/467 Thanks!

X2go extension questions

Hi, I am running x2go client 4.0.5.1 on a windows machine and connecting to a RedHat rhel 6 machine using x2go from the default yum repo. I am trying to create custom extensions for our local needs but am having some issues. Documentation is rather light on this so I hope you guys can shed some light? First, in the "fail" modalities: are these critical failures? Does the X2Go session in question survive a failure state? Next, I have written very simple extension shell scripts that just write the result of the "x2golistsessions" command to syslog and have put these extensions in each of the modality dirs. I have noticed that the "pre" & "post" "start" scripts do NOT report the process ID of the active session - the is an x2go "sessionID" but not a PID. When is the PID assigned? I have done a quick search through the source but it didn't jump out at me. Lastly, as mentioned above, I most often connect to a linux box from a windows desktop. I have had occasion to have the desktop -> linux connection going and then connect from a windows laptop into the same linux machine at the same time and as the same username. The two connections seem to get merged/confused. Is this normal? Dean...K...

problem with x2goagent and Sysv5 shared memory segments

Hi All, We have encountered a strange problem: x2goagent on the server would eat up all the System5 shared memory segments when running a particular Java GUI application. After that any other processes doing shared memory would naturally fail. When the user connects, everything is as usual; then when Java program is opened and starts working (dataset is loaded, some graphics based on it displayed, several threads started to process the data) it quickly uses over 4K of the shared memory segments. Problems with Clipman in Ubuntu 14.04

Hello everyone, I have a server running Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS (GNU/Linux 4.2.0-41-generic x86_64) with XFCE4 desktop and LTSP for my ThinClients. When logged into the server via ThinClient / LTSP the Clipman-Plugin in the XFCE panel is working as expected. When I connect to this server via x2go (same user and tried it with different users) everything is working fine (sound / usb etc.) BUT not the Clipman-plugin. It's light grey and if I copy something this is not transferred to the clipman (copy and paste works but I have no history - the benefit of the plugin ...). I tried it with parcellite as well as clipit, glipper its always the same and I absolutely need this feature ... Does somebody know this problem / has a hint? Regards Christian -- C. X applications fail after su - on x2go connection

When I am connected to a Debian server through x2go, my X applications work. When I su - user2 then try any X application they don't work. For example emacs will start in terminal mode and java applications give errors such as java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using ':52' as the value of the DISPLAY variable When I echo $DISPLAY before the su -, :52 is the correct display. I have several other machines that do not have this problem. How do I fix it so that X works through x2go after su -.

Client Printing not working!

The client can be debian or windows 7, both the same problem! Hi I'm trying to use x2goclient with slackware. The client runs the configuration screen where you can setup your connections, and also connects to the x2goserver just fine. But, the "desktop" screen never appears after connection. I've also tried to compile the debian version of the package, and it also shows the exact same behavior. Any hints on what is happening here? Hi, is there any documentation related to best practices about printing in x2go? I'll describe my scenario. 1) Linux : - I print Ok from my linux client 2) Mac - Impossible to show client printing pop-up 3) Windows - some of them shows the client pop-up printers but when I print to my local printer it do nothing. - some of them can't show Very strange. My x2goserver is remote (on Amazon). The ports of course are open, if not linux wouldn't work. Clientside Printing on Mac Osx 10.11

Hallo! Are there any special requirements to use standard ssh for clientside printing on Mac (OSx 10.11)? I have enabled remote login on the machine (this works fine). But the x2go Client cannot connect to the ssh daemon? Any ideas? Kind Regards, Bernhard
