x2go and jerky websites

Hello! I've been using x2go for a long time and I've always had the problem of jerky scrolling on websites. In the meantime, however, I use cloud services in the browser, and now another one is added. This is practically no longer usable with my x2go installation. Is there a combination (Linux OS + browser) that runs really fast? Videos aren't important, but modern websites shouldn't be stuttering. Greeting, Olaf

APT broke X2Go,. Now neither work at all.

I was using X2Go succesfully on my Xubuntu laptop, but after running apt upgrades it is all screwed up and I can neither use it nor purge it, nor use APT for anything else. *me@laptop:~$ sudo -A apt purge x2goserver Reading package lists... wayland client keyboard mapping problems

I've been using x2go for a long time now, with X11 on server and client. I use remapping of caps->ctrl (old emacs guy). After struggling with problems using X11 on client and server side, this seems to have been resolved for the last couple of years and life was good. Now I'm trying wayland on the client side. So far things work, except the keyboard mapping problem is back. Every time I reconnect when I hit caps in emacs (running on server) it is not mapped to ctrl. Using xfce on server (kde on client) I seem to each time need to open keyboard settings (xfce) and fiddle with it toggling the cryptically-named Alt+ctrl keyboard variant setting and then my mapping works again. Any suggestions? It would be great if it just worked, like it did on X11. But if I could just run a cli command to fix it on the server each time I connect I could also live with that. Thanks, Neal

temporarily disable pxe / Kernel panic

Hello! In my existing system, x2go including the pxe server runs on a virtual machine. Since I've had a few problems with it for a long time, such as windows closing immediately when calling up an already running session from one PC to the other, I would like to test a new installation in another virtual machine. However, the old and the new system presumably get in the way(?) If the new server is also running and I boot a thin client, after a long boot time comes: 192.799091] Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! Odd problem connecting to linux

I've come across an odd problem. From windows and linux clients I'm attempting to connect to a linux system, rocky linux 8.7, and run a single application. Terminator is the application but it seems as though most any app behaves the same. If noone is logged onto the remote linux systems gnome desktop the connection works okay. But if for instance I'm logged into gnome on the linux box and try to get a terminator shell over x2go the terminator window pops up on the linux desktop instead of being redirected back to the client side of the connection. On the linux server side: X11Forwarding is set to yes. X11UseLocalhost is set to no, it was set to yes previously but the change didn't effect the behavior. AllowAgentForwarding and AllowTcpForwarding are both set to default which should be yes. Many segfault across multiple desktops via X2go server on EL9 systems

I originally submitted a detailed bug report at the Mate Desktop issues Github page here https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-desktop/issues/553. I subsequently discovered that other desktops are similarly affected. All of them experienced segfaults or kernel traps in parts of their components, particularly in the Marco window manager that Mate uses. I have also tried Gnome, Kde, xfce, Cinnamon & Icewm desktops, again on a Centos Stream 9 system. Similar results were found on an Alma 9 system so I do not believe the problem is specific to the 'upstream' / lesser-tested nature of CS9. Apart from Icewm which remained usable even with the segfaults, the other desktops (particularly Mate which we use a lot for remote working) are rendered unusable by this problem. None of our Centos 7 systems have this problem. I am running out of ideas to diagnose/fix this problem. Any thoughts?
