Force using IPv6 in x2goclient

Hello I'm connecting to some hosts behind NAT. These hosts are using dynv6 DNS so I'm able to SSH directly to them, if I instruct SSH to use only IPv6, not IPv4. How can I instruct the X2Go client to use only IPv6 when connecting to some host? Thanks and best regards, Kalle

Copy/paste from client not working

I'm connecting to a Fedora 37 server running KDE Plasma from a Fedora 33 KDE system. The version of X2Go installed on the server is 4.1.0.3. The version on the client 4.1.2.2. I'm connecting using the X2Goclient and bidirectional clipboard is enabled. I can copy from the server and paste on the client, but the reverse, from client to server, does not work. xrandr settings - how do you handle this?

Do you connect to a running x2go session using screens with different resolutions? Let's say I started an x2go session (xfce) from my laptop, which happens to be 1920x1600. Later I connect to that same session, this time using a monitor with say 3840x2160. Now I need to resize everything. Going the other way is even worse. How do you handle this? Thanks, Neal

strange display issue with SDL apps

Hi, I was running sz81, a ZX81 emulator using SDL, remotely with an IRC client and noticed, that while it worked nicely if started in a session using an x2go Linux client, after disconnecting the session and reconnecting using a Windows client, the application window came up garbled with display artifacts. What's more, if I disconnect and reconnect the session using a Linux client, it somehow manages to blank my complete local display as soon as the SDL application window gets focus. This confused the hell out of me, and I first suspected a crash, until I figured out what was going on. It's really an SDL issue, I verified by running parallax-4.tar.gz from http://olofson.net/examples.html which displayed the same behaviour. I would guess x2go has some kind of SDL passthrough mode which is somewhat buggy and doesn't work with windows. Is that correct, or what is the expected behaviour? - Hanno

X2Go Black Window Opens Then Closes Instantly Upon Connection

I set up a new Linux system, initially with Centos 7 and installed X2Go from Epel. When I try to connect, then a black window opens that says X2Go on the background and then closes instantly. I tried from a client on the same machine, from a client on different Linux machines, and from a 4.1.2.0 and 4.1.2.2 clients on WIndows machines. All exhibit the same behavior. I have other Centos 7 machines that I can connect to fine with the same clients. I switched to OS to Rocky Linux 8 for unrelated reasons. I still get the same behavior. I have other Rocky Linux 8 systems that I can connect to without problems. THe rest of this post was obtained using Rocky Linux 8. X2Goserver is v. 4.1.0.3-17.el8.1 I have selected XFCE., disabled Sound and Printing support, as well as SSH port forwarding on Shared Folders tab. I disabled compositing. I stopped the firewall and also setenforce 0 to stop selinux form blocking anything. I tried the following procedure and I can start the XFCE environment without any problems. It does not crash. ----------------------- 1. Instead of starting an x2go session run ssh -X to the server in two terminals 2. in the first ssh connection run "nxagent -ac :55" (55 is the one I use normally, you can use any number here). An empty window should appear 3. in the second ssh session run "xterm -display :55". The empty window will now show you an frameless xterm 4. start the desktop environment by entering "startxfce4" into the xterm. If that doesn't work try startlxde or just run a window manager, e.g. "openbox &" 5. in the desktop environment run your application and try to provoke the "crash" 6. post the end of nxagent's output from the first terminal ------------------------- I ran the Windows debug client and set the server log mode to debug. I include the logs at bottom. I read through posts about similar issues in the last seven years but could not find anything that helped. Libreoffice Writer breaks x2go session

Hi, starting libreoffice writer freezes the display, and the local window of the x2go session closes a moment later. Reconnecting behaved similarly, ie. as soon as the contents on my session (and therefore the libreoffice window) appears, the session freezes again. Dear $ALL, A lot of real-life events had to be cancelled in 2020-2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, some became online or hybrid events. In September 2022, LinuxDay.AT was the first to dare to return to a real-life event format. Now, LinuxDays Chemnitz is following suit: Their event takes place on the weekend of March 11th/March 12, 2023, in their pre-pandemic location, the Campus Reichenhainer Street of the Technical University Chemnitz. We have been able to secure a booth there, however, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are a bit shorter on booth staff than originally planned. So if anyone is planning to attend anyways, or at least considering to attend, please reply to this message (off-list, see Reply-To header). No promises, but we might be able to get you a free ticket in exchange for volunteering at our booth (this depends on the CLT folks' goodwill, as we're past the sign-up date). Also, we'll see if we can pick you up/drop you off somewhere along the route and see if we can get a room reserved for you as well. Again, no promises, as this is all very last minute and not going as expected, but we'll do our best. Note: There is no official mask mandate at the venue, but wearing a mask is strongly recommended. Assuming pre-pandemic attendance rates, you can expect 3600 visitors passing the booths in 2 days (opening hours are 8am-6pm on Saturday and 9am-6pm on Sunday). That is A. LOT. Which means the infection risk is way higher than on, say, public transport during a morning commute. x2go disconnect timeout

Hello, I'm running a few always connected GUI applications on a server in an x2go session. This usually works fine, especially when I manually disconnect x2goclient after work (I have set X2GO_NXOPTIONS="sleep=0" in x2goagent.options). But when the x2go connection fails unexpectedly, e.g. because of network issues, or because I suspend my laptop without disconnecting x2go first, my GUI applications get stalled until they disconnect most of the time. After 2 minutes or somesuch they reconnect and keep running. I guess this is because the x2go server session waits for the x2go client to come back, and only disconnects (and keeps running in the disconnected state) after some timeout. I would like to know if this timeout can be configured somewhere. I would prefer to have to reconnect my client more often, instead of having the mentioned GUI applications reconnect.
