Upcoming X2Go and orca e.V. sponsorship drive

Dear $ALL, As you might know, a few years ago, at "X2Go: The Gathering 2017", several key members of X2Go as well as members from other Remote Desktop-/Remote Application projects joined together to form the Open Remote Computing Association - orca e.V. - a registered association under Germanys Civil Code and also registered as a charitable organization, similar to a 501(c)(3) organization in the US. This June, we joined betterplace.org for easier handling of donations. They offer PayPal, SEPA Direct Debit, Credit Card, giropay/paydirekt and Wire transfer. And they also handle issuing donation receipts for us. (Note that while donations towards orca/X2Go are tax-deductible for German tax subjects, this may vary in other jurisdictions.) The Commercial and Savings Bank Ulm, where orca's bank account resides, is planning a sponsorship drive for all charitable organizations registered with them via betterplace.org, starting Monday, 2022-10-24, 09:00 CEST and ending Friday, 2022-10-28, 23:59 CEST - so that's this week. They have pooled 17 500 EUR and will distribute them across all charitable orgs registered with them that receive donations. So it's not a 1:1 matching of each donation, but the org with the biggest amount of donations gets the biggest piece of the cake, so to speak. If you can, please visit the donation sites below and send a few €€€ our way. (But don't feel bad if you can't. Times are rough. We get that.) We'd prefer if you use the German-language donation forms because with these, we know for sure that the donation counts towards the bank's pledge. Error in installing x2goclient

I am facing a strange error while trying to install x2goclient from AUR: 0001-Fix-redefinition-compile-error.patch ... FAILED ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check! What could be causing this? V.

X2Go no longer works in 22.04, black screen

X2Go with MATE desktop used to work fine, I've been using it for years, but after upgrading to 22.04 a few months ago, it is broken and I don't know how to fix it. If I try to connect with MATE (from Windows X2Go client), it shows a "New session started" popup, shows a blank window briefly, then closes. If I select either, and hit "View Only" or "Full Access", I just get a black window and nothing in `dmesg`. cups-x2go: Backend returned status 2 (authentication required)

Hi! I tried x2go-server on 2 diffrent computers both with Ubuntu 22.04. In both cases x2go works out of the box, but cups-x2go / x2go client-side printing does not. On my old server with Ubuntu 18.04 it works fine. I see the jobs in the print queue with the notice "held for authentification" any ideas what I can do to debug & fix this issue ? thank you! Martin

incorrect keycodes when connecting from a Mac x2go client to an x2go server on Ubuntu

Dear all, I suspect I’ve hit a bug. The problem is as follows: when connecting with the x2go client [4.1.2.2 (Qt - 4.8.7)] running on a Mac to a desktop session running on Ubuntu 22.04 (in the “X2G0/X11 Desktop Sharing” mode to the x2goserver version 4.1.0.3), some simple keystrokes on the client side generate spurious 3-keycode sequences, rendering the connection almost unusable. What has been done: I have read the thread from 2019 on probably the same bug on this mailing list (https://www.mail-archive.com/x2go-user@lists.x2go.org/msg03409.html) but no solution was published there. I have tried all suggestions from the thread and other places, including trying to force the keyboard model/variant/layout/etc (BTW the rmlvo method didn’t work for me at all, but this is a different story) and switching on and of key conversion on connection, but nothing worked so far. This problem pops up only for connections to a desktop, if I run an app, e.g xterm, through x2go - everything is fine. I’d appreciate if somebody could give me a hint on what I could look into. ssh error

Hello everyone, I am getting a new error with pyhoca-cli: paramiko.hostkeys.InvalidHostKey: ('192.168.0.127 ssh-rsa AABgQC7ZFjl2e+zxzL4wHBeHnntE5fno0AoGJJbI4IHmRbMmsM88bq9FLQlZ/UMAAAAB3NzaC1yc2EAAAADAQABAA96lmxTgFLEBJWMD+Ye+3UMJlfrsYCkSAj3192.168.0.195 ssh-ed25519 AAAAC3NzaCDW/dw1lZDI1NTE5AAAAIHRAkIk0Yfsf1H/0i5xizVZ+UogtQ62ze0zeOnW', Error('Invalid base64-encoded string: number of data characters (133) cannot be 1 more than a multiple of 4')) (I have mangled the key information in the error message above). I can ssh to the server and can use x2goclient without any problem. Strangely, I get a similar error with xpra. It seems to me that something has changed in a python library with a recent upgrade (since both pyhoca-cli and xpra worked without any problems earlier). But I can't seem to figure out what it is. Would appreciate help. V.

hi all, i have seen X2Go server comes with a build in html5 plugin for clients, so they can access the client using there web browser instead of installing the actual client i have seen this how to https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:advanced:x2gohtmlclient but when it says " X2Go provides instructions for configuring the NGINX web server " where is that as i cant see it, or am i being stupid and missing it do i just need to edit the nginx conf and add this to the end? htmlclient - xfce4 desktop freezes
