X2Go Windows Client 4.1.2.2 Crashes Upon Connect

I just installed the Windows client version 4.1.2.2. It crashes as soon as it tries to make the SSH connection. I tried debug and the debug window closes immediately as well. Is there a log somewhere? It was tried on two different machines that have different OSs and virus protection. 4.1.2.0 works fine. It doesn't crash when attempting to connect to a computer that isn't running SSH (just times out). It does crash when trying to connect to that same computer by tunneling through another machine that is running SSH. If I try to connect to a new machine, it crashes as soon as I accept the host key. If you put in a wrong password, it still crashes. Thus, there is never a completed SSH connection. Is there anything I can look at or do? I was hoping that 4.1.2.2 would fix some of the annoyances that prevents me from deploying X2Go to other users.Thanks,Josh

Printing remotely

I'm having problems printing remotely using x2goserver-printing + cups-x2go. I've enabled printing on the client side, then connected to my Debian 8 server via X2go. I've installed x2goserver-printing + cups-x2go on the server and restarted cups. When I try and send a test print from the server to my home printer, it doesn't work. Nothing is in the spool directory. It doesn't seem to ever reach the otherside. What should I do? from Michael

hi, I installed easily x2goserver and x2gobroker on two servers (OS Centos 7, x86_64). I tested it last week. It worked really well with a Linux x2goclient (fedora 31, x86_64)using : - a connection to the server through an ssh proxy with password. - a connection using a session from a x2gobroker server with the same login/password/server. I tried the same tests with a Windows 10 pro x2goclient. The first test, a connection to the server through an ssh proxy works fine. But, when my x2goclient use the session from the x2gobroker (same x2goserver/use/password), the connection failed. My client write the following error: failed to resolve the hostname ... (x2gserver) In fact, the x2goclient seems to try a direct ssh connection to the x2goserver without using the ssh gateway offers by my x2gobroker server. This case is fine with a Linux client. Is there a problem in my network windows configuration ? Client version is one of the last windows release (4.1.2..). I tried several versions. X2goserver and X2gobroker versions are the last from the official x2go repositories for debian/centos (broker 0.0.4.1-1 , server4.1.0.3) My command to excute x2cgoclient in windows 10 powershell "C:\Program Files (x86)\x2goclient\x2goclient.debug.exe" --broker-url="ssh://x2go-gateway.domain.fr:/usr/bin/x2gobroker --mode SSH" --add-to-known-hosts --portable --debug --libssh-debug --libssh-packetlog --disable-pulse --link=adsl X2go-gateway.domain.fr is an x2gobroker server, but also a ssh gateway to acces x2goservers on private network. You will find debug messages from the file attachment. I may just be too tired to see where is the error... Any advice, help are welcome.

Apologies - accidentally sent before completing Hi, I have a working installation of x2go, but there is some ugliness about the setup that I'd like to reduce. Any advice welcome. Here's how it looks at the moment. 1) vpn connection to the institute. 2) ssh tunnel to the workstation from the laptop 3) x2go connected to the local tunnel port This works, but we now have 3 layers of encyption. The reason for not pointing x2go directly at the w orkstation is the use of PaloAltoNetworking appliances within the institution. These do a man-in-the-middle break of ssh connections and lead to the following error from x2go: kex error : no match for method kex algos: server [diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256,diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha1], client [curve25519-sha256@libssh.org,ecdh-sha2-nistp256,ecdh-sha2-nistp384,ecdh-sha2-nistp521,diffie-hellman-group14-sha1,diffie-hellman-group1-sha1] A direct ssh login works, but always falls back to a password. Is there any configuration option possible to have x2go/libssh handle the setup in the same way that regular ssh does? That would eliminate one encryption layer. Other recommendations greatly appreciated too. x2gokdrive and windows client

Yesterday I updated X2go on my Debian (4.1.0.4-0x2go1.2~git20200228.1815+9.heuler.1) and windows client (last stable from X2go download page), and saw there is an option to use x2gokdrive. I turned it on and tried to connect - but nothing worked, no desktop, no any errors etc. Is it supposed to work on windows client? -- З повагою, Михайло

Resizing remote desktop behavior

Hey, My setup is with a Ubuntu client and a Linux server and two monitors local. The session is MATE. Xinerama extension enabled. After connection the desktop is created and I have a window (not full screen) on one monitor. Then I stretch the remote desktop horizontally, by grabbing the right side (not the corner). I want it to stretch it occupying my two monitors, while leaving a little bit on space on all sides. The Xinerama extension works quite well. The panels stay on one (local) monitor. Cool feature! What troubles me is that the height is expanded at the same time while doing the horizontal stretch. Sometimes the bottom edge even disappears off-screen. There really is something funny with resizing that it keeps moving the bottom. Even when I move the desktop window as a whole by dragging the top bar, as you would normally move windows in Ubuntu Gnome. It seems to have a strong preference to make the remote height the same as the height of my local monitor. What is extra annoying is that working remotely (thanks to X2GO!) the feedback from the remote is not immediate. So it jumps to where you don't want it to be, before you have time to react. So, the question is, how do I stop it from snapping to the local monitor screen edges? -- Kees
