Copy and paste between systems stops working

Hello, My question is about not being able to copy and paste strings between two systems via X2Go. I have two systems which specifications are: * on the one side, a Linux system: - OS Debian (Buster) - x2goserver (v.4.1.0.3-4) - Openbox (v.3.6.1-8) * on the other side, a Windows system: - OS Windows (8.1 Pro) - x2goclient (v.4.1.2.0-2018-06-22) Here is the problem: as long as I copy and paste strings from the Windows system to a console (xterm) in the Linux system, it works fine. If I start, for example, "gvim foo.txt" which contains the string "foo", select "foo" with the mouse and try to paste it in a Gvim or a Notepad running on the Windows system, the string "foo" is not pasted in the Windows Gvim or Notepad. And starting from this point, I cannot copy and paste anything between the two systems. I have to close all the Windows in the Linux system, close the X2Go session and restart a new one to have copy and paste work again between the two systems. And, as soon as I open a document with Gvim in the Linux system, and try to copy and paste strings to and from it, it malfunctions again. Practically, it becomes very unhandy because I regularly need to copy and paste things that way between the two systems. Can you help me solve that problem? Thanks and best regards. -- Léa

X-Video extension missing

On a client notebook with integrated Intel UHD-Grafik 605 running Windows 10 a video player complains that "it seems there is no Xvideo support for your video card available". And, indeed, xvinfo reports on the client: $ xvinfo X-Video Extension version 2.2 screen #0 no adaptors present So, is it VcXsrv which lacks the support or any of the X libraries? Is there anything that can be done about it, like loading a module or such?

Always get this error when starting remote desktop, still works though

I am running x2gp on an xubuntu 19.10 system to run another xubuntu 19.10 system's desktop. Whenever I start it up I get a pop-up window that says:- Connection failed. Cannot create remote file ~chris/.x2go/ssh/key.abiGan - SCP: Warning: status code 1 received: scp: ~chris/.x2go/ssh: No such file or directory But the remote desktop starts up OK. The directory ~chris/.x2go/ssh *does* exist and seems to have reasonable permissions and copying files to that directory using scp on the command line works OK. Just checked, I get the same error when running individual programs. While I'm here, another (very minor) issue, x2go leaves a dead symbolic link (i.e. points to a non-existent file) in ~/.x2go on the remote system every time it makes a connection. ... and it leaves a 'real' file of the same name in ~/.x2go on the local system. -- Chris Green

Long-running x2goagent, high memory usage

Hi, We are using x2go for a common compute server at our department. We have users both on the local LAN and connections to the other side of Europe that work really well. Being able to close the client and have computations still running in a GUI environment is great. However, I think we have encountered a bug. Some (but not all) of the long-running x2goagent processes start taking a lot of memory, ~30 GB. This adds up quickly so that the other users can't do their work. Below you can see how user3 and user7 have x2goagent processes with large memory use (RSS column). How can I go about debugging this? I have quite a bit of Linux experience, but I don't know where to start on this one since I don't know much about how x2go works internally. Server is on Ubuntu Server 18.04.1 LTS, (x2goserver 4.1.0.3-0~1708~ubuntu18.04.1). info about multimonitor systems

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie, I've installed x2go server on some multi-monitor machines and successfully accessed these machines. my x2go server version is: 4.1.0.3 I'm using x2go Windows client (4.1.2.0) to access these machines, I can see all active displays, but on my physical monitor I see them squeezed, in addition I can't see the mouse pointer. So my questions are: 1- is there a way to select a single active display from my client while trying to access a multi monitor machine? 2- is there some option to make the mouse pointer available and visible? x2go: Unable to find free display port or insert new session into database (revisited)

I found some good information here https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/467507/x2go-unable-to-find-free-di… but "x2godbadmin --recreate" is not working for me. I removed every package I could think of that might be interfering and purged them (x2go*, xorg*, nvidia, cuda, xvfb, ...) then reinstalled with no luck any time I try and connect I get Unable to find free display port or insert new session into database message. I am using ubuntu 16.04 I can not find what is preventing it on this one system. How can I enable more debugging so I can figure out what is going wrong? x2gobroker with broker-session-autologin: client tries to login with local username instead of given one

Hello, I am trying to configure the x2gobroker to do key-based login to the servers after sucessfull authentication against the broker. Everything looks fine, except the client. It tries to login with the correct key, but a wrong username. It uses the username from the local machine. e.g. - On my local machine, I am logged in as user "martin" - start the client with --broker-url=http://192.168.0.1:8080/plain/inifile/ - successfully authenticate with the username "udo" and a password against the broker - select the session -> login failed, so I do some research and the auth.log of the remote machine shows that I try to login with the broker-generated key, but the username "martin" instead of "udo" the profile in x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf: [TEST] user= host=pegbar1 (192.168.0.1) name=TEST command=KDE fullscreen = true broker-session-autologin=true broker-use-load-checker=true broker-authorized-keys=%h/.x2go/authorized_keys /var/log/x2gobroker/broker.log shows the key generation for user "udo": 2020-01-20 12:14:21,249 - broker - DEBUG - base_broker.X2GoBroker.get_authorized_keys_file(): found broker-authorized-keys in session profile with ID TEST: %h/.x2go/authorized_keys. Connection Failed:

On a long-running session that I've been connecting to / disconnecting for many times, this morning I'm getting the attached error message. Despite the error message, the x2go session seems to still be working. This is Fedora 31 linux client + server. x2goclient-4.1.2.1-4.fc31.x86_64
