qt5 application window not rendered

Hi all, somehow qt5 application windows are not rendered anymore. I think this came with the upgrade to ubuntu 17.10, but I'm not totally sure. My desktop is xfce and I only rarely run qt applications - I recently noticed that qgit is broken and then noticed that not a single qt5 programm works. Applications linked to qt4 seem to work fine. So when I run qt5 programs, it brings up window, but this just shows whatever was under that new window, but not the real not content. Outside of x2go it works fine, of course. I also just updated x2go to the unstable nightly (Version: 2:3.5.99.12-0~201801110901~ubuntu17.10.1), same result. Before updating to the nightly build, it complained about xkb errors when I started qt5 programs, right now nothing except a gtk2 warning comes up. Is there any way to trace what is going on? I'm rather clueless about X debugging. Thanks, Bernd

can't connect to session

Sometimes x2go works fine. Other times I can't get the session back and logs look like this. server version 4.0.1.20. Hi, I have made a maintenance tool to easily connect to distant or local computers with different products like vnc, x2go, ssh connections, ... For x2go connexion, I use this command line: cmd="x2goclient --thinclient --kbd-type=pc105/fr --autologin --link=lan --clipboard=both --close-disconnect --session="+trim(sUser)+"@"+trim(sMachine)+" &" To change the connection type, I first modify command in .x2goclient/sessions before connecting If I connect changing command to XFCE, it works directly If I connect changing to SHADOW, if works, but x2go ask me for : display :0 or display :50 , and also if I want complete access (what I want) If I choose 0, it works, and also with 50, but in this case, no shared display as with XFCE In .x2go folder, I have this files : S-alain-50-1516374453_stDXFCE_dp24 which is generated by XFCE connection S-alain-51-1516383729_stS1XSHADalainXSHADPP0_dp24 which is generated by local connectiondisplay :0 S-alain-51-1516383880_stS1XSHADalainXSHADPP50_dp24 which is generated by local connectiondisplay :50 What are the differences between XFCE and local :50 connections ? Is there a way with some parameters to launch directly x2go local session ? Another minor problem: When I open a session from my desktop (1280x1024) on a notepad which has a screen of 1440x900) with x11vnc, I apply a correction of the screen size (about 0.88 for this computer) to have a complete display of the server screen. Is there a way to do such thing with x2go ? I have found the .x2goclient/sizes. x2go local desktop connection on rpi

Hi, I've recently been trying to use X2go to connect to a Rpi3 running the latest ubuntu mate 17.10 This seems to work when selecting xfce or a new session but doesn't work when trying to connect to the local desktop (which is already logged in) I even tried installing / running x2godesktopsharing on the server side then enabling shared desktop, but that didn't have any affect (I think that's only needed for different users normally) * client - Windows 10 / latest X2go client 4.1.0.0 * server - Rpi3 / Ubuntu Mate / latest x2goserver 4.0.1.22-0~1197~ubuntu17.10.1 It just seems to jump out with the following message on the client "The connection with the remote server was shut down. Please check the state of your network connection" * I was able to rule out the client as the problem by connecting from windows to a x64 gentoo vm / local desktop vm which worked fine on the local desktop setting (same version 4.0.1.22 server) * I also tried connecting from a linux client to the rpi but with same results * For the rpi as the server, this only seems to affect connections to the local desktop, connections using a new session in the drop down work okay Logs attached below any ideas on how to get this going? one difference I've spotted with a working setup is the message "state file for this session does not exist" in the server logs client log: NXPROXY - Version 3.5.0 Copyright (C) 2001, 2010 NoMachine. X2Go login very slow

Hi, I am using X2Go server on Ubuntu Mate, kernel 4.4.0-109 by client 4.1.0.0 X2Go login has become a couple of weeks ago very slow, "Status: connecting" takes 2-5 min to complete. I can connect to the same server from cmd line fast. Can anybody tell me how I can trace what is going on in the server during login pahse? Keyboard mapping issue with Mac client and Linux server

I'm using the Mac client (version X2Go Client v. 4.1.1.0 (Qt - 4.8.7) And Server is RHEL 7.4 x2goserver-4.0.1.20-1.el7.x86_64 x2goagent-3.5.0.32-3.el7.x86_64 Keyboard mapping is wrong. I've tried KDE and XFCE - same issue. Any tips? Thank you. - Kevin

KDE5 neon success/want to suspend session

Hi all, first message to the list. First all, I'd like to report success in connecting to a KDE5 Plasma 5.11.5 session running on KDE neon User Edition. I've not touched the server configuration. My client is a 2017 MacBook Pro running the latest X2go client v4.1.1.1 (Qt 4.8.7) and XQuartz 2.7.11. It works pretty well. It runs at fullscreen, 72DPI by default. The fonts are a little tiny. It's a little bit laggy, but it's a development/mediaserver machine in my basement. Just wanted to report the success. One question I've been unable to find a (current) response to is this: is there a way I can suspend my x2go connection rather than logging in from scratch each time? I've got some apps I'd like to leave running on the KDE machine when I'm not connected. I've seen references to a command like "x2gosuspend_session" or something similar, and tried it. I still started from basic login. Even the "pause" button in the OSX client restarts the session. My apps reopen, but my all my Firefox tabs have closed and my terminal windows are blank. Any suggestions?

Ubuntu Nightly Builds Server Problem

After installing updates today Ubuntu 17.10 server with x2gonightly builds now will not allow me to connect. When I try I get a pop-up that says: Connection failed. /usr/lib/x2go/x2gogetrandomport: line 106: get_random_port: command not found Unable to get (pseudo-) randomized starting port value. colors of qt5 apps wrong?

I've recently seen problems where colors are totally wrong on some apps. First it was matplotlib. Now I see it on tortoisehg. Both I believe are QT5. Any ideas?
