Emacs crashes on start

Hi I'm connecting from a Mac (X2Go Client v. 4.0.5.1 (Qt - 4.8.7)) to Fedora 24 with a xfce session using the x2goserver-4.0.1.19-11.fc24.x86_64 packages from the fedora repos. On starting emacs, I get the error below. This issue seems to have been around for a while in similar forms, but didn't affect me under Fedora 22. Is anyone in a position to confirm this issue on Fedora 24 and suggest a work around? I tried setting various environment variables suggested on various web pages for similar issues and in the bug report noted in the error message (and checked /etc/PROBLEMS), but nothing was effective. emacs starts fine in an xfce session at the console. Hi all, I'm trying to connect to an existing user session (local desktop mode) to help him in a remote host using x2godesktopsharing feature but I always get the next error (the first is in spanish): Error en la conexión No protocol specified xwininfo: error: unable to open display ":0" No protocol specified xwininfo: error: unable to open display ":0" The scenario is: - Remote host: Linux Mint 18.1 x64, Plasma 5 session, nopasswordlogin user and unprivileged (user A) logged in, X2Go Desktop Sharing running and enabled, administrator (sudoer) user B included in group x2godesktopsharing x2goversion: x2goagent: 3.5.0.32 x2godesktopsharing: 3.1.1.3 x2goserver: 4.0.1.20 x2goserver-printing: 4.0.1.20 x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.20 - Local host: Fedora 25 Workstation x64, Plasma 5 session x2goversion: cups-x2go: 3.0.1.3 x2goagent: 3.5.0.32 x2goserver: 4.0.1.20 x2goserver-extensions: 4.0.1.20 x2goserver-fmbindings: 4.0.1.20 x2goserver-printing: 4.0.1.20 x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.20 Client X2Go v. 4.1.0.0 (Qt - 4.8.7) I also tested on a local host with Windows 10 X2Go client and the error is the same. However other connection types (terminal or published applications) work fine. I've also tried with another remote sessions: XFCE, Cinnamon, ... the same result. Also I've observed that if the remote user A executes in a terminal window the "xhost +" command, when the user B connects to remote host with local desktop mode a window to choose a desktop is presented but only appears "non-existent" user B sessions (user B, screen :0) instead of user A session. New X2Go-ThinClientEdition-Live images available; changes to X2Go-TCE-Live build process

Hi everyone, this is to inform you that new X2Go-TCE-Live images have been built and are available for download here: <http://x2go.baur-itcs.de/x2go-tce-stable/> All files have been checksummed with md5, sha1 and sha256, the resulting files have been clearsigned using my GPG private key. My GPG public key is attached to this message, so you can (and should) verify the integrity of your downloads. Everything you need to know about X2Go-TCE-Live can be found here: <http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:howto:tce> The most important change is probably the one documented in this diff: <http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:howto:tce?do=revisions> It allows you to query which versions of X2Go-TCE are installed/running, if you are using local storage/writable portable media in combination with the updateurl= boot parameter. This is really helpful if you are using some kind of monitoring software - now you can monitor update progress. Also, all log output from our custom startup/if-up scripts is now written to /dev/tty8 as soon as it becomes available, and once a network interface is "up", an attempt is made to sync time using the ntpdate command (at present, it uses the ntp servers that are used as defaults in Debian; the code could be expanded to use custom ones if required). Other than that, the current images now feature a colorful login message both locally as well as via SSH, where details like MAC and IP are highlighted, as well as various improvements to the update mechanism. Compatibility between x2go deb packaged versions

Hi to all ! I've got a x2go server 4.0.1.20 running on debian 8, and I am surprised that my x2goagent 4.1.0.0 running on debian 9 fails to connect to the server... The error message is : "Unable to create SSH tunnel : Connexion error on localhost:1000" Is there a way to maintain compatibility between versions ? What are the recommendations ? Thanks ! Olivier B

I've been using X2go on Ubuntu linux (client) and a dozen or so flavors of Linux servers without any great problems. I have to compile nx-libs myself on some of them to use the nightly build and not have resolution issues but otherwise all good. I recently setup my Mac with MacOS again (stil have Ubuntu, it is dual boot), and I can not get x2go to work under MacOS. It connects but just gives a black screen. Why does X2Go spawn so many shells in single-application mode?

Greetings. I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem where my PATH environment variable isn't getting set correctly when launching a terminal via X2Go. Perhaps this is a problem with the way I have my Bash files set up, but on the other hand it may be an X2Go bug related to Bug 149: <https://bugs.x2go.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=149>. Anyway, to trace the execution path, I've added logging messages to all the files sourced by Bash. I immediately noticed that whenever I make an X2Go connection, four(!) separate Bash processes are spawned, not including the Bash process launched by the terminal itself. The parents of all four shells are the sshd process. By contrast, logging in on the console or via SSH results in just a single Bash process. Why does X2Go cause so many shells to be launched in single-application mode? Here are some steps to reproduce my logs, in case anyone is interested: 1. On the X2Go server, add lines such as the following to the beginning and end of /etc/profile and any other files that normally get sourced by Bash shells on your system (/etc/bash.bashrc, ~/.bash_profile, ~/.profile, ~/.bashrc, etc.): echo $(date) Entering /etc/profile $$ $PPID >>/tmp/login echo $(date) Leaving /etc/profile $$ $PPID >>/tmp/login 2. touch /tmp/login && chmod 666 /tmp/login 3. On the X2Go client, configure a connection to the X2Go Server with the "Session type" set to "Single application". For the command, choose /usr/bin/xterm or your favourite terminal emulator. (Note that /usr/bin/gnome-terminal doesn't work due to <https://bugs.x2go.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=900>.) Then launch the connection and examine the logs in /tmp/login. Apart from the shell launched by the terminal emulator, you'll see four different shell processes were already launched -- the process ID and parent process ID are the last two fields of the log file. Examining the output of pstree -p shows that these shell processes are no longer running, and that their parents were all sshd. 4. Log in to the X2Go server again, this time from the console or via a vanilla SSH connection, and examine the /tmp/login file. This time you'll notice that the only shell process is the one you're in. can't get x2g0 to work with wsl

Ok, I'm very confused.. I've installed just about every x2go item in apt search and still no go. I'm running wsl, fully updated and upgraded. I've tried numerous docs and steps to get it to work and it always says it can't timeout connecting to 192.168.1.137:8888 Can someone PLEASE help me figure this out. if I try the browser plugin it says "invalid plugin" here's the main thing I've been following, as you can see session.conf is not in /etc like he said it would be. Issue with specific application

Hi Let me first say that x2go is working very nicely. Most of our application are running just fine in multiwindows mode. But we notice that application that are base on the TCl/TK widget seem to be much slower in refreshing and even freezing all windows running over x2go. One the specific application is mentor graphic questasim. We also have internal application written in perl/tk that seem to slower compare to others. I have many different setting but nothing help. If i run in desktop mode the application work fine. Any help would be appreciated. Regards CL
