x2go to LXC containers

I'm running into a problem using x2go with LXC containers. I've been using x2go to connect to an LXC container for some time with no problem. I've created a new container on the same host and I'm able to connect to it using SSH. I can also connect to the new container with x2go, as long as I'm not connected to the old container. If I start two x2go sessions at the same time, both fail. Customize Published Applications menu layout

Hi people! I've installed x2go on a server i'm configuring anda i'm impressed in how good it works! I would like to have all applications on my Published Applications menu on the top level, but can't figure how! I've tried to copy the .menu file to the /etc/xdg folder but it didn't changed a thing! It seems only to use default categories from freedesktop. Is it a hard coded feature or there is a file to change its layout? Thank you! Gabriel Fonseca.

Sluggish response

Hi, X2Go Client v. 4.0.5.0 (Qt - 4.8.6) GeForce GT 430 1GiB Driver 361.28 x2goserver 4.0.1.19-0~1064~ubuntu14.04.1 Ubuntu 14.04.4 local and remote ADSL 7/1 Mbps I have used x2go quite a long time to work from home. It have been working very nicely. But recently it have started to have very slow resume and sluggish response. It may take minutes to construct all the windows in the session at the resume and unminimize. Local desktop goes very sluggish as well. I have a lot of application windows open and using full screen session. I have investigated a little an noticed symptoms like this: When I resume the session and get a chance to minimize it, I see that memory usage of graphics card have shot to 100% and Xorg takes 100% CPU. This happened just this morning. Then I launched Thunderbird locally and saw that the memory usage dropped to 10% and everything started to behave normally again. But then I suspended the x2go session, resumed it again and the same slugginesh and symptoms came back. I have tried ADSL and WAN connection but didn't see any difference. What should I try next? Can I somehow force Xorg/x2go not to commit all graphics memory or something? -- Timo

x2go overwrites LD_LIBRARY_PATH

Hi, I am using x2go to connect to machines running Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. I had trouble running commands that rely on finding libraries via the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH. LD_LIBRARY_PATH is set in a script in /etc/profile.d because this is a system wide configuration and it needs to be performed once per login. Using ssh to remote login, LD_LIBRARY_PATH is correct: echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/lib/fsl/5.0 When I login using x2go, LD_LIBRARY_PATH seems to be reset and contains only the entries regarding x2go: echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/lib/nx/X11/Xinerama:/usr/lib/nx/X11 My guess is that there is probably an error in /usr/bin/x2goruncommand, along these lines: test -n "$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" && \ LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$NX_XINERAMA_LIBS:$NX_LIBS:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" || \ LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$NX_XINERAMA_LIBS:$NX_LIBS" "$X2GO_LIB_PATH/x2gosyslog" "$0" "debug" "exporting LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" export LD_LIBRARY_PATH But I can not see why it is that my path only contains $NX_XINERAMA_LIBS:$NX_LIBS, and not $NX_XINERAMA_LIBS:$NX_LIBS:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH. x2go-client depends on xorg-xauth?

Hi, I’m currently using x2go-client on a (Arch) Linux desktop (connecting to a Ubuntu x2go server, on which I’m not admin), and I’ve found out that it apparently needs xorg-xauth to work properly. Is that indeed the case? Because I can’t found a list of dependencies outside of nx, qt4 and libssh, and the current ArchLinux or Fedora packages (for instance) do not depend on it. Reconnect to session

Hi -- I'm trying to reconnect to an existing session using the x2goclient GUI, or using the pyhoca-cli command line. This does not work. I'm also not able to suspend a running session. When I use x2goclient to re-connect to a server, the old session is listed as running. Questions: 1 -- How can I connect to a session which is marked as running? 2 -- How can I suspend a session which is running? 3 -- How can I connect to a suspended session on a server? 4 -- How can I specify the session to connect to using the pyhoca-cli CLI? x2go client within Xnest

Hi, is there a way to start an x2go client session within Xnest? My first try: Pyhoca-cli starts but does not show a window within Xnest, when starting a session. My second try: Standard x2go client shows an unreadable error message when starting a session. regards, Markus

Sessions and pids

Hi, I am looking for advice. We have a few x2go "servers". We have customers that use the client on laptops to connect to the servers and do what they do. I need to account for the time they have active x2go sessions. We have tools to get user login/out data. The behavior we are seeing is as follows: 1. Customer-A logs in via the pc client. 2. Customer-A does or starts work then literally closes the laptop and walks away. 3. After the default SSH timeout his "connection" ends but the x2go session continues. 4. Later, the laptop is reopened and the x2go session is resumed. 5. ... repeat... I have put small scripts in all of the "extensions" sub-dirs to report the activity. They really just report the result of "/usr/bin/x2golistsessions". * After #1 I see the pre-and post-start scripts but they are NOT reporting a PID number. * After #2 I can see our normal logout process run after the ssh connection timeout. * After #4 I see our normal login process run due to the new ssh connection; and I see the pre and post-resume scripts run and they DO have PIDs. I can imagine that the "pre-start" script hook might not have access to a running PID yet but is there any way for the post-start script to get the PID? I could craft a special version of our audit tools to deal with a numeric PID in the pre or post-start scripts and treat it like a console or ssh "login". I suppose I could craft it to use the x2go sessionID but that will cause a lot of other changes in out existing audit tools. Thanks

SSH key generation in Windows

Hello, I am considering restricting access to my X2Go servers : I'd like to disable password authentication. I need all my X2Go client users to generate their own SSH keys and transfer the public part to the server. I wrote a simple guide for Linux and Mac users, but I still miss Windows support, since I do not have windows systems around me. I found http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:advanced:authentication:passwordless-ssh… Does that wiki documented procedure work with XP, Seven and W10 ? -- Sébastien
