Unable to connect to Fedora 21 xfce from Windows

When trying to connect from a Windows 10x64 desktop with the current release and 4.0.5.1 to a Fedora 21x64 xfce workstation running versions: [root@localhost log]# rpm -qa |grep nx nx-libs-3.5.0.31-1.fc21.x86_64 nxagent-3.5.0.31-1.fc21.x86_64 [root@localhost log]# rpm -qa |grep x2go x2goagent-3.5.0.31-1.fc21.x86_64 x2goserver-xsession-4.0.1.19-3.fc21.x86_64 x2goserver-4.0.1.19-3.fc21.x86_64 I get disconnected immediately after initiating a connection with the following in the session file: Loop: PANIC! The remote NX proxy closed the connection. Loop: PANIC! Failure negotiating the session in stage '7'. Loop: PANIC! Wrong version or invalid session authentication cookie. The versions are higher than the releases in bug 406 and 504 so I am not sure what else could be the issue. Is this specific to Windows 8.1 and 10 as they both exhibit the same behavior. The key is correct and using a password doesn't help either. Thanks, jlc

Massive beginner's woes

I have been trying--without success--to get x2go running, Linux server and Linux client. I tried on my local machines here both Slackware. I have 4.0.1.5 server-side, and the client is 4.0.5.0. and then thought, well maybe I'll be better off with a packaged system, so I spun up a Debian system in the cloud, and used apt-get to install everything. There the server is version 4.0.1.19. I am trying to run the client on a remote machine. Does an X server already have to be running on the physical machine to use x2go? Do I want to be running in Desktop, Rootless, or Shadow mode, and how does one even select such a thing? I am really motivated, but the complexity of the system combined with the limited documentation (e.g. I see there are two x2gostartagent processes running, caused by my ssh connection to the server machine. What should happen next?) may mean that my hopes of using x2go may be dashed. How much does "professional help" run? All the sites linked to the main page are in German. . . Make an x2go connexion without the gui

Hi, I need a complet x2go no-gui connexion I have tried using x2go --thinclient. I'm able to connect using profiles, but I notice that each time I call x2go, I open a new instance, what I don't want, and I'm not able for now to recall the already opened instance. I have tried pyhoca-cli, but I'm now not able to connect to a machine. In x2goclient Session Management

If you bring up the x2go client session manager and then click on a particular session, Delete is grayed out and one can no longer delete a session. Switching between Desktops

I had commented earlier about the behavior of X2Go verses NX when it came to switching Desktops when in a session. That X2Go would pass the CTRL + ALT + -> and CTRL + ALT + <- keys to the remote application rather than allowing the local switching of desktops with those keystrokes. It was suggested editing keymaps, but actually the solution turned out to be much simpler. When you create a session you can specify a full screen, a window of some size, or the whole display. If you specify a full screen those keys are passed to the remote and you can't switch desktops locally except by doing CTRL + ALT + M to minimize the x2go session and then switching desktops. And that's a pain if you are working on a bunch of servers and have to switch frequently as if often the case for me. However, if you specify use the whole display rather than full screen then the ALT + CTRL + -> and ALT + CTRL + <- arrows are acted upon locally allowing the easy switching between local desktops (with X2Go sessions to various servers). What would be very nice is if there were a way to switch that setting on the fly. With the Remmina NX client, you have a little one-pixel pull down at the top of the screen, and if you pull it down there is a keyboard symbol. If you push the symbol it visually depresses, then all your keystrokes go to the remote computer, if you undepress it, the CTRL+ALT+ arrow keys are acted upon locally. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Eskimo North Linux Friendly Internet Access, Shell Accounts, and Hosting. Sound Troubleshooting

I just installed Ubuntu-Mate 15.04 on a new server, installed pretty much all the x2go packages, but for some reason sound does not work over x2go on this machine. The same client receives sound fine on another server with Ubuntu-Mate 15.04. Both have the same version of x2goserver, 4.0.1.19-0~1064~ubuntu15.04.1. One significant difference is the server that works started life as an earlier version of Ubuntu, 14.04 I think and then was upgraded to 14.10 and then 15.04 in place where as the new server was installed from a Ubuntu-Mate 15.04 DVD made from the ISO that is available on ubuntu-mate.org.
