X2Go client won't open desktop window on Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

I've just upgrade my version of Mac OS X to 10.10 (Yosemite) and x2goclient (verion 4.0.2.1) started failing and printing the following message to .x2go/S-<my user>-50-1413676018_stDKDE_dp32/sessions: Socket: PANIC! Failed to resolve address of '/private/tmp/com.apple.launchd.iLnJoOXr4Z/org.macosforge.xquartz'. Loop: PANIC! Unknown display host '/private/tmp/com.apple.launchd.iLnJoOXr4Z/org.macosforge.xquartz'. As I try to open the connection a second time, a running section is detected, meaning the session was actually initiated but the client failed to open a local X11 window. The socket is present in the /private/tmp directory referred by the error message above, although its name ends with 'xquartz:0' instead of just 'xquartz'. Creating a symlink with the expected socket name does not solve the issue. It would seem like the client is trying to use the socket name as a host name? Perhaps misinformed by XQuartz? Any help will be greatly appreciated. X11 forwarding over SSH is working. It had some graphic glitches but I'm not sure they weren't there before. x2go not working on OS X Yosemite

It seems to hang. I get a dialogue box titled "Select session" with one session which has Status "running" but nothing else happens. Any ideas?

Client Wish List

I use X2Go for remote administration and I originate on several different platforms, most often Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, but also from MacOS 10.7.5 and from Windows XP. I also use X2Go to allow my customers remote desktop access to our shell servers. The X2Go client differs in behavior from other NX type clients in that on systems with virtual desktops or workspaces, they keyboard sequence used to switch workspaces, control+arrow key in the case of MacOS or control+alt+arrow key in the case of Ubuntu, do not work within the client, so when I have the client full-screened, I can't switch workspaces except by first minimizing the client. With OpenNX, NoMachine Player, or Remmina, I can use the keyboard short-cuts to switch work spaces without minimizing the client and that is much more convenient. Then on Mac there are further problems. On MacOS 10.7.5, without XQuarts, X2Go Client is completely unusable. Keyboard translations are severely messed up and it is unstable and usually dies or locks up within fifteen seconds. With XQuartz installed, behavior is much better, keyboard translation is correct with one exception, the state of CAPS LOCK is inverted, that is, when CAPS LOCK is on, I get upper and lower case characters, when it is off, I get UPPER CASE only. It's a minor nusiance and most notable when switching between X2Go client and other windows where I have to keep toggling the CAPS LOCK. Another behaviorial issue with MacOS is that it will only do full screen if I enable the X-server root window, however this breaks many things MacOS, and so it is essentially not usable in full screen. I do not have to do this with other NX clients, they all go full screen without using the root window and would very much desire this behavior also with X2Go client. On MacOS, sound does not work. It works on Windows and Linux fine, but not MacOS 10.7.5. It doesn't produce any errors, but doesn't produce any sound either. There are no choices for audio subsystems so nothing to attempt to tweak. This isn't a bitch list, just a wish list. I really appreciate the work you folks have put into X2Go, aesthetically, I find it far superior to NoMachine, it also connects far more reliably, and working sound is nice. I've got the server end working on Centos 6, Centos 7, Fedora 20, Scientific Linux 6, Scientific Linux 7, OpenSuse, Mint, Ubuntu, and until very recently Debian Wheezy. I've also got freenx-server working on all of these except Debian. For those of you who have experienced problems with the newer distributions move to compositing window managers that don't work with X2Go, check out mate-desktop.org. X2Go Server Weirdness

I have X2Go installed on Debian Wheezy, this is on an Intel I7-2600 based system. Until recently it was working but now when I try to connect with X2Go Client I get: Connection failed "has_agent_state_file" is not exported by the X2Go::Server::Agent module Can't continue after import errors at /usr/bin/x2golistsessions line 28 BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/x2golistsessions line 28. I have removed and re-installed all X2Go software and still get this same error. I've rebooted the machine, no change. I've Googled for this error and find absolutely no matches. The machine seems to be otherwise running okay so I'm at a complete loss.

error in the install wiki

I've noticed that the x2go installation wiki has a small error. on the page here that discusses the installation for Ubuntu 14.04: http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:installation:x2goserver It says to install "python-software-common" but the correct package name is "software-properties-common" . Can someone with edit access to the wiki make this trivial change? --lj

problem with logging in and ssh banners

Hi there, I have just installed the x2go EPEL packages on a SL 6.5 machine. It mostly works except that when I have a ssh banner the x2go client complains that a connection error occurred and displays the ssh banner. If I disable the banner it works just fine. I would very much like to keep the banner. Is this a known issue, are there any work-arounds? I have installed the following EPEL packages x2goagent-3.5.0.27-1.el6.x86_64 x2goserver-4.0.1.15-2.el6.x86_64 x2goserver-xsession-4.0.1.15-2.el6.x86_64 and client packages (also on SL 6.5): x2goclient-4.0.1.4-1.el6.x86_64 I use GSSAPI for logging in without a password.
