Folder sharing does not work with x2goclient

Hi list, While folder sharing works fine using pyhoca-cli, it does not work at all with x2goclient. This is what sshd says on the client side when trying to "share" a folder from the gui: May 8 13:55:43 uranus sshd[23908]: Connection from 127.0.0.1 port 51821 May 8 13:55:43 uranus sshd[23908]: Connection closed by 127.0.0.1 [preauth] mount's output on the server side does not show anything interesting. I am running Ubuntu precise (12.04), both on the client and the server. Do you have any hints on how to debug this further? Mac OSX and keyboard

Hello, Is X2goclient working on Mac OSX? I read some messages that there are keyboard problems. Not sure they are gone. (I have a customer with Macs who does not want to upgrade because the office will be closed in a few months.) Paul, Unfortunately as a regular user of the Mac X2go client, this is something I've seen many times. Unfortunately, I haven't found any fix for it. The good news is that it rarely happens if you keep the X11 application open. Always open X11 before starting your X2go session. From there, you can stop/start X2go sessions, even the X2go client itself, however I almost always keep my X11 app running even when it's not being uses and then I don't get the problem you are describing. If I quit X11, especially if it's accidental during an active X2go session, then I end up with the problem you are describing and the only option is to restart the whole computer. But if I keep it open, I go for days or weeks without rebooting. Ultimately, I think we should look to move to the PyHoca gui, but we haven't been able to find any serious python developers to port it to OS X. Many people at my work use x2go's Mac client. We have never been able to figure out how to resolve the 'Can't connect to X-Server' error without random acts (eg. rebooting). We are not sure why it comes up. This is what I do: 1. Start X11.app 2. ssh -X remotehost 3. xterm & So far this works, I get an xterm so there is nothing wrong with X11 4. Start X2Go client 5. Start a session (port 22, dsa authentication, Gnome...) 6. Client gives the error and hangs (Abort and Terminate don't do anything) and I have to close the application. The closest we got to figuring it out is that the X11.app possibly changes it's DISPLAY on restarts and perhaps the x2go client is expecting display 0. Is there any more debugging information that I could get from the client to see what exactly it is doing prior to giving the error message? We have tried some of the suggestions in the forums, such as changing permissions in X11.app (this is necessary), starting it manually before starting the client. We have also done things like messed with firewall settings, made sure hostname doesn't change on our laptops between work and home, deleted preference files, delete XAuthority files, etc. What seems to work is rebooting. Incorrect keymapping?

With the most recent versions of x2go on Linux I've been having enormous difficulty with the keymap not being correctly applied - that is, the arrow keys, delete keys, home and end etc. appear to be mismapped between client and server, regardless of what I set the Keyboard settings to in the x2go client. I'm using the Qt client 3.99.2.2. Does anyone know what the cause of this is? The machine I'm connecting from is a laptop, but that shouldn't be fundamentally changing the keycodes x2go reads?

Raspberry Pi and acceleration of X2Go

Hi I recently bought a Raspberry pi and have been using it as a thin client with X2go with the config script found here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=13130 While working ok. X seems to max the cpu as soon as you start pulling windows around and it the experience is quite laggy. I'm looking for solutions for this. The raspberry does not have hardware accelerated X yet. Is this what is causing it? Is there a way I can use the hardware OpenGLES 2 directly? At my workplace we are considering x2go for thin clients and were looking into using the Raspberry pi as a client :-) What can I do to make it perform better. cheers Pascal

Dear all, The X2Go Project is proud to announce a couple of new X2Go component releases: - x2goserver (3.1.1.4) - cups-x2go (3.0.0.4) - x2goplasmabindings (with plasma-widget-x2go, 3.0.1.4) - python-x2go (0.2.0.10) All new packages will be available in our stable repositories (Debian, Ubuntu) within the next 24h. In the past months we skipped some minor announcements of release that were related to inclusion of some X2Go components in Debian (being available wheezy, partly in jessie). In the new X2Go Server release several issues got addressed: o Audio support (pulseaudio) with X2Go-proxied RDP sessions o Media support (client-side shared folders) for X2Go-proxied RDP sessions o XDCMP session type fixed o Fix KWin crashes on Kubuntu 12.04 (sponsored by Rohloff AG, thanks Mirco!!!) o Fix Xinerama with x2goserver-xsession package installed (also: thanks Mirco) In cups-x2go Helmer Teles provided us with a patch that now allows to specify the number of copies in a print job. Thanks to Helmer for that. search proxy win: loops forever

>so it's not clear to me if it's looping serverside or clientside. i'm not quite prepared to dive in with gdb myself, if there's something not quite that deep i can help with say so, meanwhile i'm still using plain vanilla vnc via portforwards, a bit slow and clunky but it just works. i look forward to the speed advantage and rootless handiness of nx/x2go, the portforwards are easy to me thus i'm not at all interested in nx session handling, too bad that's the part that's broken and keeping me from using it, i wish there were a way to just manually connect like vnc..
