Dear all, The X2Go Project is proud to announce a couple of new X2Go component releases: - x2goserver (3.1.1.1) - pinentry-x2go (0.7.5.4) All new packages will be available in our stable repositories (Debian, Ubuntu) within the next 24h. In X2Go server we have put some focus on automatic client keybaord recognition. Put ,,auto'' as keyboard type/model in x2goclient and check your keyboard settings within the X2Go session with ,,setxkbmap -print''. PyHoca-GUI already has a widget in the session profile management window to enable auto-keyboard recognition. Also, this version of X2Go Server now has Unity and GNOME3 session support. Use X2Go Client 3.99.2.1 or PyHoca-GUI 0.2.0.x to enjoy Unity session on Ubuntu servers running X2Go. Also a fix for an error that occurred when unmounting client-side shares on NFS homes has been added to this release. The pinentry-x2go project experienced a very comprehensive code clean up. connection failed xhost: unable to open display ""

I get this error on Windows 7, on X2go client V. 3.99.2.1, Xming is running, and will have to go back to an older release, as the new releases all did that so far. I asked this question before, but had no answer whatsoever: is there a bug tracker for X2go? Is this error before known? is there a work around instead of downgrading? Thanks, Markus

X2Go on CentOS 6.2 with PyHoca as Client

Hey all, I want to use X2Go at CentOS 6.2. So I installed a KVM virtual maschine with a CentOS 6.2 minimal system. I installed GNOME and X11 with a yum groupinstall command like follows: yum groupinstall "Desktop" "Desktop Platform" "X Window System" "Fonts" Than I added the RHEL6 X2Go Rep which is listed at the X2Go Page (http://www.x2go.org/doku.php/external:linux-distributions) Than I installed x2goserver, python-x2go and x2gognomebindings like follows: yum install x2goserver python-x2go x2gognomebindings After this I added a profil in PyHoca, to connect to the server and tried to start a GNOME session. PyHoca says that it starts the session and immediatly after the startup it says that the session is shut down. So PyHoca doesn't get to the point that it start a session window or something like that it directly shut down the session. The only thing I found on a logfile (/var/log/messages) is that the session got start correctly. Here is the log entry: Jun 15 20:45:45 testdom0 /usr/bin/x2gostartagent: successfully started X2Go agent session with ID lukas-51-1339785943_stDGNOME_dp17 Jun 15 20:45:49 testdom0 /usr/bin/x2goruncommand: launching session with Xsession-x2go mechanism, using STARTUP="gnome-session" There is no more information in the logfiles, no errors, no warnings or something like that. Does someone have a working x2goserver on CentOS and can explain what to do to get it running with PyHoca as client? Or can someone give me information where the error could be located? Best Regards

Hey all, we are using X2Go in a thin client environment via PXE boot. We used debian linux and the official documentation for setup. All works fine. What we want now is to have autologin for the thin clients. In the past we used LTSP and there is a config file, where you can bind autologin to mac addresses (http://aacable.wordpress.com/2010/06/30/ubuntu-ltsp-lts-conf-example-for-au…) How can we realize this behavior with X2Go? Any suggestions? Stefan

Removal of EsounD support

Hi all, I'm thinking about removing ESD support from x2goclient altogether. During my recent deep changes to the PulseAudio integration for X2goclient on both Windows and Mac OS X, I came across the ESD sound support. On Windows, ESD was supported through the PulseAudio wrapper, while OS X was totally broken anyway. Testing ESD support proves to be difficult, and I'm thinking about removing it completely. Most Linux distributions have already removed esd (and tools) from their repo, or rather replaced it by the PulseAudio esd compat layer. That's especially true for Ubuntu, but also Debian Testing and Unstable (Debian Stable still has esd for x86 and amd64 arches, but this will be dropped in favor of PulseAudio in the upcoming release.) That said, I'd like to know whether users are still using esd or not. I wouldn't feel comfortable removing a feature still in use. Please report, if you find the time. Best regards, Mihai

sshd not running error on Mac client although ssh enabled

I have installed x2go client on a Mac (snow leopard). The main terminal server functionality works well, however, I do not get local file access and printing enabled due to an "ssdh not running" error. SSH is enabled on the Mac. Has anyone solved this problem without the need to install or recompile additional software ? thanks for any help, Mark

MacOS X 10.6.8 client, Ubuntu 12.04 server, scrambled keyboard

Hi there, I'm trying to connect from a Mac (MacOS X 10.6.8, x86_54) to a Ubuntu 12.04 desktop (Unity 2D, x86_64). The connection works out of the box and moving windows around works super fast, so I am eager to use x2go. However, any attempt to use the keyboard ends in disaster, as the key mapping seems to be totally scrambled. Unity has a little helper application that shows you which key it believes have been pressed. Doing this on the server in a local x2go client session shows the right keys. Doing this under the Mac client shows pretty much random key presses. E.g., pressing "h" shows up as "3", "n" shows up as "x" and so forth. Changing the keyboard map in the client interface (e.g. to English US from the default German / eliminate dead keys) does not help. Changing the option "Tastaturlayout behalten" (i.e. keep keyboard layout) does not help. Changing the desktop environment to KDE or Gnome-Classic does not help either. On the server, x2goversion reports x2goserver: 3.1.1.0 x2goserver-extensions: 3.1.1.0 x2goserver-fmbindings: 3.1.1.0 x2goserver-printing: 3.1.1.0 x2goserver-xsession: 3.1.1.0 The Mac client has version 3.99.2.0 . I have x2goserver running and x2goclient on my desktop working. However, x2go on my laptop always crashes with one of the following: ----------------- ONMainWindow constructor Can't load translator (:/x2goclient_c) ! X2Go client change password on logon

Hi, X2GO is working perfectly on debian squeeze, however does anyone know how to change a user's password via the x2go client on login? unfortunately our set-up requires passwords to be changed every 60 days and when its expired I get the message: Connection failed WARNING: Your password has expired. Password change required but no TTY available. apart from using putty or plink or ssh to trigger a password change, Im hoping there's a way to do this within the client. Kind Regards, Kris.
