as some of you might know/remember, back in 2017, some members of X2Go, along with members of other remote desktop/remote application projects, founded the Open Remote Computing Association - orca e.V. in Treuchtlingen, Germany.

orca e.V. is sort of an umbrella organization and provides the legal framework for the individual sub-projects (currently Arctica, FreeRDP and X2Go) - and also allows them to collect donations.

orca e.V. is a registered association [0] under Germanys Civil Code [1] and also registered as a charitable organization, similar to a 501(c)(3) organization [2] in the US.

As such, donations to orca e.V. and its sub-projects like X2Go are tax deductible for German tax subjects.

However, until now, we were only able to accept donations via wire transfer. This has now changed, thanks to the kind offer by betterplace.org - In addition to wire transfer, they also offer PayPal, SEPA Direct Debit, Credit Card, and giropay/paydirekt as payment options, and you can choose between a one-time (which is the default), a monthly, or an annual donation.
