If I understand it correctly, Swedish also has two number forms. In English, that would be "1 bit" vs. "x bits" for any number other than one. Note that the plural form is always used for numbers other than one. Swedish also seems to have a plural and a singular form, though not necessarily with 1 as the singular form. I know that for instance French has 0 *and* 1 as singular forms, while any other value is a plural form.

It seems you only translated one case, but left the other untranslated (or empty?)

Won't this lead to untranslated text for numbers that require the plural form? Or will be singular form be used in that case? If the latter: why offer different number formats in the first place?

Yep, I'm referring to that.

Yes, it's unlikely that users change the color depth to 1, but it might happen. We have no control over the user's environment.

But worse - currently only the singular (i.e., 1 color depth) form is translated, while the plural form (anything but 1) probably won't be translated at all.

This message is special in that it allows different translations for both the the singular and plural forms.

It seems like the correct thing to do here is to translate it as such:

singular (first) form: "Det är starkt rekommenderat att ändra färgdjup till %n bit och starta om din X.Org Server innan du återansluter till denna X2Go-session." plural (second) form: "Det är starkt rekommenderat att ändra färgdjup till %n bitar och starta om din X.Org Server innan du återansluter till denna X2Go-session."

Is that correct? I can apply it myself if that's okay.

It looks like translators are unfamiliar with this feature - you're not the first one to have problems with that. Thus, as for the others translators, I want to offer some help. The first translation is used in the singular form case (in English, that would be for the number 1, i.e., "1 bit".) The second translation is used in the plural form case (in English, that would be any number other than 1, i.e., "X bits".) Qt Linguist should provide you with two input boxes for that purpose for that message. You may need to scroll down to get to the second one, not sure. :) Mihai
