Peter Müller schrieb am 20.06.2010 02:04 Hi folks,
yesterday i tried to install the x2goclient on my Nokia n900, but it failed with an error message:
Could not be installed (more detailed message follows, if needed. just had no time to look for it)
The way i started the installation:
I think, it failed because the x2go-repo is for the diablo version of maemo. But maybe there's an workaround or better newer packages for maemo fremantle, the actual version of maemo.
Thanks in advance for any hint to this.
Greetings Peter

We don't have a own N900 (the one you've seen on youtube was owned by LinuxMagazin). The problem was with the N900 was, that there was a difference between the result inside the development kit and the real target environment. So we couldn't guarantee that what we did really would work on the N900.
We've received more and more requests for maemo5 so we'll keep it in mind and maybe the N900 gets cheaper on *bay soon :).
best regards,
Heinz

QEMU can emulate the Cortex-A8 processor that's used by N900. Perhaps that's worth looking into? I'm very interested in this since I have a Nokia N900, but I also recently purchased an IGEPv2, which also uses Cortex-A8: http://www.igep-platform.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46&Itemid=55
It would be very nice if we could have x2goclient running on these cool devices (pun intended).
Keep up the good work! :)

Hi Heinz,
OK, so i think i'll give it another try and search for a more detailed error message in logfiles, should i post it in this thread?
Maybe it's useful for further development.

Well, that's an argument. Mine is from this "shop" too ;-)
Thanks for the reply and for this great software
