Dear all,
The X2Go Project is very very very proud to announce the release of
The release fixes the long waited for problem that session resuming is
broken since current Linux system have started using libcairo >= 1.12.x.
One of our core developers spent two days in the dark to find a patch
for this:
http://code.x2go.org/gitweb?p=nx-libs.git;a=blob;f=debian/patches/204_nxagen...
For more info on this bug, read the corresponding entry in our (new)
bug tracker:
http://bugs.x2go.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=16
Stable packages for Debian and Ubuntu are currently building on our
build server.
@Packagers for other distros: Tarballs have been uploaded, please
provide the new version of nx-libs to users of other distributions
asap. Also, please test the new version with our distro and report
back, if you find any issues.

Steps to reproduce:

- everything works fine there)
- Type: kdialog --yesno "Test"
- Session will crash </quote>
@Marcelo: This problem has been present in latest FreeNX packages as

So we have a new core developer now, and he looks like this? http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1574082816/tt0134847 I knew this guy looked familiar. ;-)

I've looked at the comment possible we need to add support for other picture types, for example gradients..' and think that it would be better to add
default:' case to "switch(pPicture->pSourcePict->type)"
and write some message to log instead of just silent return, it could
save some gray hair in the future.
Does anyone like this idea (and the idea that switches w/o default case is smth bad) ?

Please provide a patch against the patch in Git and post it to
submit@bugs.x2go.org with this header on top of your mailbody:
Package: x2goagent Severity: minor Version: 3.5.0.15 Tags: patch
We will be happy with logging such stuff and saving us some gray hair
in the future. We guys gradually have to think about our hair
luminence, I guess...

Hi, Mike.
I need some time (and may be help) to become familiar with the source code and coding rules that must be followed here.
Just some thinking out loud: if i've understood everything correctly,
logging in nx-X11/programs/Xserver is performed using fprintf(stderr, ...)' calls and all those calls are enclosed with
#ifdef ... #endif'
but although #ifdef TEST' is used mostly and sometimes
#ifdef DEBUG'
is used. As far as i find the difference (i.e. when TEST and when
DEBUG should be used), i'll provide my update to your patch. I hope
that i'm on the right way.

Actually, I want to add such support as soon as possible (I think already next week). I looking for applications that using such feature of Xrender extension to test. So, there is no need to add code, you suggest.
