Hello, all. We are in the home stretch of our first major X2Go deployment and have hit a problem with using the x2go cups printer to print to local devices. When Windows users print to the X2Go printer and select a physical printer from the list of local devices, we find the print job is opened by whichever application is configured to open PDF files.
For example, we had one station where the print jobs opened in Acrobat Standard no matter what printer we sent the job to. We removed Acrobat Standard and the job now opened in Acrobat reader. I'm assuming this is a bug. Is it something I have misconfigured? We really want the job going where we send it and not to a PDF reader (unless, of course, we tell it to go to the PDF reader!). Thanks - John
hello,
for now 2 weeks we have send a mail to the mailing list, but i have not see it and so i don't kow why, we send mails before without problems. we have a question: we would like to use x2go for an internet cafe in africa, do you know internet cafe software, we have tried to install maelys, a program which is written from an african friend, bt it was not working, do you know other software?

/x2go in cameroon hello, after a long silence, we give you some infos. we have installed in cameroon limbe an x2go network in a school (Presbytarian Girl's Secondary School). this school has 800 students and have a computer lab, but most of the computers are bad. we were asked to help: so we build a x2go network, with a server (1.5 gb ram) and 4 thin clients (5 watts low power computers). as you can see on our internet page, we could connect other computers of this computer lab, so we could make a network with 11 working places. (it is anyway not much for a school with 800 students, but better than nothing) the server has ubuntu 9.10 as basis and we load x2go-home. we need memory, most of our machine has 512 mb ram or 1 gb ram switch or hub and especially help, material as moral...
thanks

The list has recieved your mail without a problem. If you are unsure if your mail is received, you can take a look here: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.linux.terminal-server.x2go.devel

I have no experiences with Internet cafe software, but I have a list with software you can try. Even African software ;-)
My list with internet-cafe links: http://www.dijitanix.com/ (cafepilot) http://openkiosk.sourceforge.net/ (KDE based) http://mkahawa.sourceforge.net/ http://ltspnetcafebill.sourceforge.net/ http://freshmeat.net/projects/os-cafe http://cyborg.sourceforge.net/index.html.en http://www.outkastsolutions.co.za/outkast/index.php?option=com_openwiki&Itemid=45&id=outkafe http://zeiberbude.sourceforge.net/ http://linux.blogs.ie/ (zencafe distribution) http://webconverger.com/ (distribution) http://ubuntu.icafebusiness.com/ https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Cafebuntu http://www.hodoman.com/ http://www.osscc.org/
Another point is what you want with the software, is it to make easy a bill, or is it to lock-down what a user can do? If you need lock-down software take a look at Pessulus and Sabayon for the Gnome desktop.
